Thanks for visiting us! TALO Cafèbar is Glace Bay’s spot to ‘take a load off.’ Located in the heart of Glace Bay, TALO is a licensed bar, restaurant and coffee shop. TALO offers a deliberate blend of casual, relaxed dining in a stylish atmosphere. Not pretentious. Not your everyday restaurant. Foodies can rejoice, as our menu is a culinary inspiration where simple ingredients meet casual sophistication. We serve a wide range of sandwiches, paninis, fresh soups and salads, appetizers and entrées.



TALO is the perfect neighbourhood place to unwind with friends and drink in our fully licensed lounge. Or Take a Load Off by the fireplace with a Chai Latté and Cheesecake. We offer a wide range of specialty teas and coffees, snacks and treats to satisfy any sweet tooth. Free wi-fi and comfy seats are available.

We've been open since February 2015 and we're constantly evolving to serve you better. Everyone is welcome, and we can offer many different reasons for you to come and enjoy our fantastic food, drink, service and atmosphere.

If there was a 6 star they would get that too!! The staff was incredible, kind and friendly. Decor, very up to date and funky, yet welcoming and spacious! The food.. Was omg-amazing!! Very creative culinary talents! Highly recommend the lobster mac and cheese, and the mussels. Thanks for an amazing lunch!
Stopped here for a coffee while waiting for my group, and really enjoyed chatting with the friendly, cheery staff. One of them even gave me a bite of her Greek plate, which tasted awesome. There menu looks eclectic and delish!
We went for buffet brunch. It is a very warm and welcoming decor. I would say trendy rustic. Bright and clean. Server was friendly. Food was good. The kind of place you would be feel comfortable sitting and chatting for awhile. Will definitely pay a visit again when I'm in the area.
Last week, we celebrated a birthday with a group of girls. Five of us became sick after eating there! We all ate different things. When we called to tell the owner, his response, after he chuckled, was to say" Well, you all seemed like you were having a good time". Not good business! So disappointing as I've eaten there several times before.
Great food , staff & entertainment. I highly recommend it .

Best fish and chips in Cape Breton
The food was good, not great. But it was a nice treat to walk into the cafe after arriving in Glace Bay and being disappointed in the town. The cafe was so nice and clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. And the coffee amazing. Thank you
Service - 2 Wait to be served - 2 Food - 4 Waiting staff seemed to be overwhelmed when only 2 tables were seated. Food took over an hour to served. Once served, the food was good but the wait was far too long for wait was only 2 tables being seated.
AMAZING shrimp tacos and avocado fries!
