The finest in authentic Indian, Mughlai and Tandoori cuisine. The first family owned and operated Indian restaurant in Moncton, since 2003.
An authentic blend of traditional Indian cuisine served in a contemporary East Indian atmosphere provides a unique dining experience for all who enter the doors of Tajmahal. Every aspect of the décor allows you to escape to the hectic city landscape and encounter the true feel of a Maharajah’s court with furniture, hand-carved artifacts and even the dishes all imported from India and designed to make your visit one to remember. We offer a wide variety of Indian cuisine including Mughlai and Tandoori styles which are prepared from scratch by talented chefs with long-standing East Indian tradition. Recipes and flavours are developed by the owner and head chef Mohinder Jit Singh and his wife Remi Singh.
Mohinder, Remi and their children Steven and Monica are all involved with every aspect of the business and it has grown from humble beginnings into the extraordinary dining experience it is today. While visiting Atlantic Canada, Mohinder made some trips to Moncton and discovered that the people were very friendly and co-operative and had very good taste for spices. He decided it would make an ideal location to start a restaurant promoting the home style north Indian cooking he had perfected in his home country. His dream became a reality and in December of 2003 the doors were first opened and thus began “Tajmahal Flavour of India”. New recipes are developed to satisfy the tastes of the clientele and a reputation for always having original authentic traditional taste with distinctive flavours is known by people from all over the world who have enjoyed a meal at Tajmahal.
An excellent traditional menu is offered which includes the signature dish Butter Chicken and a wide selection of lamb, beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes for everyone to enjoy. The unique Tandoori cuisine, an exquisite distinct taste evolves from roasted and smoked flavour of meats which are placed on a skewer and lowered into a special Tandoor (clay oven). Accompanying the entrees, a great variety of specialty breads and rice dishes and authentic desserts such as Gulab Jamun, Pista or Mango Kulfi. Rounding up the menu is a selection of Indian drinks like Lassi, Masala Chai, and Roohafja.
A taste sensation from start to finish, all served in a courteous and friendly atmosphere is waiting for you beyond the doors of ‘Tajmahal Flavour of India’.
