Story

The Tailored Tea welcomes its patrons as if guests in a home. Annie Misir, owner of The Tailored Tea, is firm in her commitment to family and history. Serving delicious home-cooked treats to her guests upon her beloved collection of vintage and antique china and linens in the oldest farmhouse in the Town of Colonie (formerly the Town of Watervliet), only serves to validate her dedication. The warmth therein and provided by the staff lends itself to a familiar comfort for the guests, removing the feel and commercialism of dining.

What a wonderful experience! The young owner and chef is doing a stellar job of creating an interesting and yummy menu. The homemade tomatoe bisque is bar none. Everything we ate was outstanding. I was impressed not only with the owners entrepreneurial skills but his passion for building community and helping youth. The have a beautiful little gift shop on the premises where you are sure to find something you can't resist. I look forward to going back when in that area again.

I loved being able to have afternoon tea in Albany, but sadly the experience was mostly mediocre - particularly the food. The restaurant is basically an old house and has a great deal of charm, and the service was friendly. However, the food was not great. The salad dressing was mostly flavorless oil. Our scones were rock hard and a bit overcooked (I couldn't even cut one in half without it falling to pieces). The "clotted cream" was reasonably tasty, but it was very thin and appeared to be whipped. The sandwiches were pretty good, though the salmon was dry and chewy at the edges. The roast beef sandwiches were good, but with too much mayo. The desserts were mediocre and similarly felt dried, overcooked, and crunchy, which surprised me given that they were apparently fully booked for the day. Overall, a decent experience with mediocre food for far money than it deserved.

Loved coming here. Is very relaxing felt like you were in the quiet country side. Their tea is delicious, it's the best thing they have. Their staff is amazing. The only flaw is the food. Use to love the food but the last 3 times that I went the food seemed rushed, stiff, and tasted awful. I don't know if they are trying something different, but besides that, if you are only going for tea and small pastry then this is a Must! So many options :)

First time and we will definitely be back. The food was delicious. Very quaint. Brought the Groupon to bring my 2.5 year old daughter for a "tea party" . Very accommodating for little ones! Even gave my daughter a cookie on the way out, very sweet!

really loved the fresh out of the oven scones that the place offers (both savoury and sweet). they also give clotted cream and jam to go with the scones and it's all very high teat and delicious. it's in an old house and feels cozy. would recommend.
