Pretty nice stadium and field! Attended a track meet here and the stands were great given that it's hot and sunny today.nnThere are also concession stands, washrooms and more here.nnNote that parking can be a bit crazy when it's a large event, so arrive early and park further away. The residential areas nearby are 2 hours, but if you park a few blocks further, then you can park all day.
Joined the Bubble Tea Festival here. The venue is very spacious, with plenty of room to relax. Bought some food and drinks and enjoyed them sitting on the grass in the center.
Awful experience watching Vancouver Rise here. Was an embarrassment for a professional team. We felt really bad for the players. They deserve better.nnFirst, we arrived almost 10 minutes early. Didn't get into the grounds until 15 minutes after kickoff time. They had one security attendant at the carpark entrance for over 100 people lining up. It was a joke. What's worse, not one employee mentioned there was another entrance.nnOn top of that, they put the food trucks behind the bleachers. The lines for the trucks, concession, and washrooms turned the area into chaos. You couldn't move, never mind find out which line was for which destination.nnAs for the seats. They are rows of long benches. Seat numbers hidden underneath. Given there's no legroom, good luck trying to find the seat you paid for. Most likely, someone else has already taken it as it was basically first come, first served. You could hear everyone complaining when they arrived. No staff in sight.nnThe announcer actually called a goal for the wrong team. Enough said on that.nnLastly, the view. As you can see in the photo, the stadium has one side with bleachers. They put the team benches which are portable in front of the bleachers, obstructing the views of the pitch / game.nnWe saw the first game at Canada Place, and it was great value for good football. Their actual home game experience is horrific and couldn't be further from professional. A real shame.nnWe were hoping to like it enough to opt for season tickets. After this experience, we wouldn't go back if the tickets were free.
An absolute gem of a soccer pitch and a cornerstone of soccer in British Columbia. It has served as the home of the Vancouver Whitecaps during their early years in both the NASL and USL, becoming a beloved venue for fans and players alike. Over the decades, it has hosted international friendlies, Canadian Championship matches, and has been a developmental ground for countless Canadian talents. The backdrop of Central Park in the south and east along with the mountains in the North make this one of the most beautiful settings in sports. Also, an amazing spot to watch a TSS Rovers League One match!
Went here as a visitor for an athletic competition of BC secondary schools:nNice stadium; clean; good view; easy parking.
