Nat Bailey Stadium

Story

Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium is home to the Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League in the summer and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in the spring.Stadium historyOriginally built in 1951 as Capilano Stadium, it was renamed Nat Bailey Stadium in 1978 to honour the work of Vancouver restaurateur Nat Bailey and his tireless effort to promote baseball in Vancouver.Nat Bailey Stadium is located on the eastern side of Queen Elizabeth Park in the Riley Park-Little Mountain neighbourhood of Vancouver. The stadium was first home to the Vancouver Capilanos in the early 1950s and later attracted the Oakland Oaks, who became the Vancouver Mounties of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League, from 1956 to 1962, and 1965 through 1969. The PCL returned to Vancouver in 1978 with the Vancouver Canadians, owned by Harry Ornest. He purchased most of the primary assets of Sick's Stadium in Seattle and shipped them north for use at Nat Bailey. The Canadians stayed in Vancouver through the 1999 season, then relocated south to Sacramento, California. The following season, a second incarnation of the Canadians began playing in the short-season Class A Northwest League.

Always great to drop by for a game for a nice, relaxing afternoon. The sun was beaming on the day we went, so we were freely move around the stadium with no issues.nnThough pricy, the chicken strips and fries tasted excellent. I also really appreciate there being sriracha mayo at the condiments table. Whoever's idea that was, please keep it there!
First time at a Canadian baseball game, and it was a blast! Food options were good, and there was a huge variety. The place was clean, and I had a memorable day with colleagues. Looking forward to coming back!
Such a great ballpark. Always a good time. Great staff, great food and drinks. I used to go as a youngster with my baseball team, now I go with my kids and our baseball team. We went on a Wednesday night game in April. Not a packed house which was great as every kid on our team got a game ball thrown up from the players after each half inning, and then autographs from the players after the game. The kids loved it, the parents loved it. Nat Bailey is a magical place. Even if you don't love baseball you have to experience a game at the Nat.
We had such a great time at our first Vancouver Canadians baseball game. The ticket prices were affordable and lots of game day treats. The music, sushi run during intermission and the game itself was a blast! The Canadians won in extra innings so that was very exciting! Go C’s!!!
Attended Nooner at the Nat.nnFrom parking attendants to getting our food, good staff that can handle the rush,.nnBuffet was excellent with potatoe salad, choice of chicken or beef burger, even bacon and all the other fixings.nnCorporate area was also a great way to watch the opposing team especially bullpen as pitchers got loose.nnWhile home team lost the entire experience was worth the price of admission.
