We stayed here over the weekend because our grandson was playing at Cooperstown. It was the only place in town that was available and was reasonably priced. We were very skeptical and nervous because the priority views were poor. We had the king size suite. It was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff, especially the manager Shelly was extremely helpful in telling you where to go for local places to eat. I would definitely stay here again. Should we ever go to Cooperstown again.
Just don't. If you have another option, choose that. Room had belongings of previous guest, immediate stench of urine that does not come off of belongings, tub won't drain, window screen frame bent and unable to open window without a screen so can't get fresh air. 100 dollar deposit, no receipt or proof given, no way of verifying return of deposit, if i ever get it. The list of unacceptable things goes on and on. Don't stay here if you don't have to.nUpdate: 6 hours later tub still hasn't drained and the staff working can't do anything about that. This is poor management, not poor staff. Housekeeping staff could use some training on appropriate place and time to use their phone and have loud conversations. It is obvious that they have never been trained, not their fault that they don't know not to be loud near rooms two hours before checkout time in a motel. Poor management.
What I love most is the simplicity. I often book rooms last minute when traveling as plans change. While lots of amenities are nice, I dont need them when looking for a place to rest, wash, and sleep, and i dislike having to pay for them. In this case, my travel plans changed due to the weather and i needed to stop early for the evening. I made a reservation online that was seemless. They provided all of the information I needed about what to expect. It was easy to find right off of the exit. It was 'happy' clean when I walked in. Not that weird heavy chemical clean. Just clean. No weird smells. The girl who checked me in was nice. Not that weird creepy nice. Just a normal person who didnt hate her job. It was refreshing. My room was great. It wasnt bare. It had everything I needed and nothing I didn't. It had ample space but wasnt overwhelming. The bed was fresh and clean. Instructions for tv and wifi in view. Fridge was cold enough to put my food in. Air and thermostat actually worked. Water pressure was amazing. Bed and pillows were comfortably firm. Laundry was visible near front desk before getting to rooms and was priced just right for a traveller passing through. Breakfast was rather lean but I also didn't ask. It looked like there may have been more available. I was greeted from the desk. I also had a question prior to check out. It was ha dled appropriately. The ladies didnt make me feel dumb or like a burden. They were helpful and pleasant. While i havent stopped in this area before, it is on my travel route and will likely select this specific location again.nThe parking lot was a little awkward and narrow to navigate at night on a storm, but really if that is my only complaint, it definitely is mot a bad place.
Good location, close to fast food, grocery stores, and Hwy 88. Has l free fast WiFi. You’ll see plenty of hawks in the day, and all of the cosmos at night! This Super 8 is run by a bunch of super kind people, which is what essentially keeps my family coming back to stay here at least once a year. The manager, Dana, is the sweetest person and you can tell she treats everyone including staff as family.nnMy stay there last year, I went out in the parking lot and witnessed a beautiful meteor shower. Sadly, something we rarely get to see on Long Island with all the light pollution!!
Had a family medical emergency and needed to cancel a one-night booking well over a week before the actual night booked. Booking.com had the option to contact the property and ask for a refund, which the property itself proceeded to deny. Had previously spoken to someone the day before about the situation who only said they had not received the request from Booking.com yet. Despicable business practice completely lacking in basic human decency and compassion.
