Howard Johnson Hotel - Norwich

This was the only area near my wedding venue with vacancy. Spent my wedding night here. Now we laugh about it. The one star is because the girl at the front desk was very nice. I didn't want to step foot in the "jacuzzi tub" which costs extra. It was just a regular sized shower with some jets in it. The couch had what looked like a giant blood stain on the arm of it. When you sat on it you realized a yoga mat would have been more comfortable. The room had an old box TV not that I used it. I don't want to start on the carpets. Over all, all I have to say is that the hotel is gross. Also, the breakfast was just prepackaged cereal like you get in elementary school and some prepackaged muffins. It's somewhere to sleep I guess

In process of renovation..improving all the time..clean bathroom,bedding, furniture. Wish they had full size bed pillows instead of throw pillows,ice machine on 2nd and third floor..instead of only on 1st and restaurant on premise and working pool. Continental breakfast getting better,staff always accommodating. Last year had King Suite for 6 nights with kitchenette no complaints. Had microwave and refrigerator in King with couch no smoking this time. Happy they have WI-FI and cable and can walk downtown.

Would recommend if looking for an inexpensive and decent place. Our first room had a old box tv and the door would lock unless you slammed it. The front desk person gave us another room that had a flat screen. Bed was decent, shower was clean enough. Friendly staff. Has a bar in the hotel with a friendly bar tender. Breakfast was normal continental. Overall decent place.

Nice bed great location. Wonderful front desk staff. Can't complain for the price of a room.

Run down but clean enough. Tv is smaller than some tablets. Air conditioner sounds like a diesel engine. No fridge, no microwave in room, small room, ancient shower that is meant for short people. EDIT, the night continued to get worse. Paper thin walls, got to gear everything next door, went to checkout at 4am (work) and a "be right back sign is there, I go load up my truck, come back 415.... still there. 430 a stoner looking kid shows up so I can get my receipt.
