We had traveled over 11 hours from Missouri. The first visit we were able to get a room for the night at 9 am. The staff was so pleasant. The room was great!nThe second visit was just as good except for the bathtub wouldn't hold water in room 118 and the caulk in the bathtub was black and needs replaced.nThe third visit was just a good except the bathtub again. We had room 112 this time and the tub had no drain stopper and the caulk was the same.nOver all a great place, great friend staff, breakfast looked good but I didn't have any on any of the visits. I will definitely stay there again.
Smelled like a typical super 8. Bathroom had a lot of bugs. Half of towel bar missing. For 50/ night I would have been fine but not worth 140/night they charged. Not sure how the ratings are so high this place definitely doesn't warrant 4+ stars
I don't think this is a terrible place to stay for one night on a budget, but I wouldn't come back. Here are some reasons why:n- The hallway reeked of cigarette smoke like someone smoked a pack right outside our room door. The room itself smelled weird as well, like it had been smoked in at some point and we got whiffs of smoke from inside maybe coming from outside through the AC unit?. I'm not terribly sensitive to smells but I found the smell of the room overall weird and definitely notable.n- The carpets were kind of sticky, like they'd been shampooed but the cleaning product wasn't fully removed. This could be because we were in a pet friendly room and the carpets have just been repeatedly cleaned, but it was pretty unpleasant. I tried not to walk around barefoot because it felt so icky.n- While there was a blackout shade on the window, the light filtering curtains provided were unusable because they were floor length and would cover the heat/AC unit. My spouse and I worked remotely for 2 days during our stay and it would have been nice to have some privacy we were on the ground floor and still let some light in the room.n- The headboard attached to the wall creaks constantly and very loudly!n- The available outlets were all loose and/or inconvenient. There was a single outlet integrated into each of the 2 lamps, but because of their placement larger plugs like the adapters for our phone chargers would not fit. One side of the bed had no lamp and therefore no outlet. A power strip was available under the desk but pretty inconvenient to access.n- Only 3 pillows provided 2 soft, one firm which is pretty insufficient for more than one person. I'm sure we could have asked for more but I really didn't feel like we should have to ask for enough pillows for both of us to have our choice of firm or soft, and be able to sit up in bed and watch TV or read with a little support, especially since the headboard isn't upholstered or padded in any way.n- Similarly, only 2 small bath towels were provided. We made it work but I feel like providing a couple extra towels is a way a budget place like this can easily and affordably make people feel more comfortable.n- Toiletries provided were 2 bars of soap and shampoo. No lotion or conditioner.nnI'll add a few pros as well:n- This place was very affordably priced at about $99/night, and other than the rugs, felt pretty clean. I wouldn't have minded staying here if I was on a strict budget and only there to sleep.n- The staff was very pleasant to interact with.nnOverall thoughts: There are other, nicer hotels in the area for slightly more and I think they are worth it. That said, I do think some small improvements more pillows and towels provided without request, less cigarette smoke would have greatly improved the experience of staying here.
This Super 8 location was better than expected for our short stay. It’s close to the racetrack in Brainerd which is why we stayed here. The beds are soft and comfortable, and the rooms are quiet which is the most important thing to me. The AC/heat unit has a fan that helps to drown out any noise. The rooms were clean. Hot breakfast is offered. I did not eat it but it is available.
For a 2 star hotel, it’s pretty good. The room/bathroom was very clean. Check in was easy and convenient. It was at times a little loud, not much noise dampening. Nice to have a complimentary breakfast as well.
