Sung Ji Chang Fen

First time try out this place. Both congee and rice roll were good. We ordered beef and pork rice roll, but next time I would try the rice roll with no meat. I would like to try the milk tea next time too. I heard the rice in a pot was good. I would like to try it next time. Definitely I would come again. The place is clean and the person was nice.

The is a new trend of dine-in restaurant self-service. Save on your tips. Food prices are decent and comparable to those in Chinese Food Courts. Food is good with generous ingredients BBQ Cheung Fun. The Sampan Congee was full of ingredients but a bit bland. However, you can add salt and pepper and ask of small container of Soy sauce, which tasted flavorful. The cashier helps clean up the table after you. A token tips would surely be appreciated.

We got their Special Breakfast Combo with Minced Beef Congee, Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll, and another order of Dough Stick Rice Noodle Roll. Their Breakfast Combo was PERFECT value, it came with one Rice Noodle and one Congee! We got their Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll and Minced Beef Congee, Minced Beef Congee was flavourful, it had Peanuts, Egg, Scallion and Dough Stick, the Rice Rolls were chewy, silky, it had Chives in it as well, but the Shrimps were OK for the price! The Dough Stick Rice Noodle Roll came in chewy Rice Noodle, the Dough Stick was a bit soggy, but paired with their Sweet Soy Sauce it was still very BOMB! Great spacious self-serve congee restaurant. The plaza has 3 congee restaurants and I've tried 2 so far and all were great. The other ones are Cantonese, the cashier at this one speaks Mandarin. Nice lady. You order and take your food to your own table. There's a self -serve water station. The TV playing random YouTube music was a bit loud for me. The food was great though. I'd say it's creamier than some of their competitors. The hot chili oil was fragrant too. Their $8 congee + rice roll combo seems to be a great deal, but I missed it since it's available before 11am. Take out containers cost $0.05 extra.

2022-05-04: My first time trying this place. The rice rolls were not bad, smooth and thin but the shrimp filling was a tad too salty. The pork liver congee generous portion was a bit watery and bland. Certain pieces of pork liver were overcooked. The weekday breakfast combo is a good deal though. I'll give it another chance.

Self serve chinese congee, rice roll and a few dim sum options. No need to pay tip because you pay up front and you get the food yourself at the counter. No tea just hot and cold water with lemon. Congee has corn and shredded lettuce.

We came here for breakfast last weekdays. Great breakfast deals. This is a self-serve local congee restaurant with not much decor. We like they put shredded lettuce and shredded egg in the congee. We ordered the fish congee and the preserved eggs and pork congee. They are very generous with congee ingredients. The rice rolls were also good, very soft and smooth. The sweetness of the soy sauce matched very well with the rice roll.

rice rolls were alright but for their prices, you can get the same/better quality at other places; fried dough sticks are really good and worth getting though!

Our go-to restaurant for rice noodle rolls and congee. They offer not only the usual rolls with shrimp, beef and pork. I love how they use other ingredients like kidney, liver and roast duck. Those are my MOST FAVORITE and I can't help but coming back every few weeks. Their congees are also exceptional. They put so much ingredients in it I never be able to finish one bowl at once. Throughout the whole pandemic, I don't find their quality degraded or the quantity decreased. It's something to praise about.
