Sun Island Eatery

My fiance and I used to love a local Chinese food restaurant that went under. Since then we have searched for a spot that lived up to our expectations. This location is the best by far!! The ginger chicken and ginger beef were both delicious. The dumplings were doughy but great flavor! We also tried the beef and veggie Shanghai noodles which were awesome. I also love that they do not use MSG. We cannot wait to try more off of the menu To add, the woman working there was an absolute pleasure to talk to. She has amazing customer service skills and is the main reason I am writing this review.

Stopped by last week. The woman manning the phone and pick up was a lovely breath of fresh air. Cheerful, helpful and pleasant. The Ginger beef was some of the lightest and tastiest I've had in Calgary yet. S & S pork was alright - I'm not a big fan of fatty pork - so this was a no go for me, but the rest of the family enjoyed. The chicken and mixed veg was full and fresh. The spicing and dryness of shanghai noodles weren't my favorite - but still a good value - loaded with shrimp and snap peas. All in all, I'll probably give Sun Island a try again when I'm in the neighbourhood.

I ordered today for the first time via Skip the dishes. I ordered dinner for twowhich comprises spring rolls, chicken fried rice, stir fry vegetables,ginger beef, sweet n sour chicken and special fried rice. The rice was good; I didn't really like the spring rolls and stir fry vegetables but the ginger beef and sweet n sour chicken were absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a good meal and i would definitely recommend the restaurant

Wanted to try a new place for Chinese food so got 6 items from menu with a buddy. Overall the items were lacking quality, flavors were mediocre particularly for thin noodles in chow mein and ginger beef seemed like it was nearly all breading with very little beef. I was pretty surprised by this as it had good ratings but it appears the location is under new management. Its a bit of a shame... I hope they can improve the quality for other customers.

I am very impressed by the food at this restaurant. We are mainly gluten free and vegan. We find it hard to find a healthy Chinese restaurant that will cater to our needs. Sun Island is our new go to restaurant. There are yummy vegan and gluten free options. Will order again! Vegetarian options: Vegan gluten free options or healthy food conscious people.

The food and service was outstanding. We loved the ginger beef and especially the Sun Island Style Chicken, full of amazing flavors. Flora was an excellent host, kind and attentive. The kids ate well and we will definitely come back again!

Long time customer, best Chinese food in the city. But I have noticed one change that I don’t love, the grilled dumplings have gotten super doughy. The dinner for two used to feed my family of 4, I realize the kids are growing up and their appetites are most likely larger, but maybe the portion sizes on the meals has gotten smaller?

We feel so fortunate to have this amazinging restaurant within walking distance of our home. The food is amazing, the service excellent and management attentive. Eating in is a treat! The food comes out hot, fresh and plentiful. We highly recommend this establishment for eat in or take out.

Lady on the phone was very nice. The young man who delivered the food was polite and it didn’t take long for the food to arrive. The food tasted great and seemed like a good price. We will definitely be getting food from here again.

It was my first time trying Sun Island Eatery, and to my surprise, it was amazing. I ordered ginger chicken, Singapore noodles, and mo po tofu, which was delicious. Will definitely go backFood: 5/5
