Bonavista Peking House

This place is woefully underrated, no way it should be under 4.5*. I just ordered a bunch of food tonight and it was all fantastic. Both the ginger beef and sweet and sour pork with pineapples were swimming in sauce! The mixed vegetables in black bean sauce and black pepper chicken fried noodles were great too. There are some great Chinese food places in the South but this one is my favourite.

Very Delicious food, good variety of food. One of my faves is #104 salt and pepper spareribs, they are very good! Their ginger beef is descent too, comparable to the Ginger beef restaurant. I ordered to go as the service was very poor and the lady was grumpy if we asked about the many. That’s the only downside.

Picked up the order, but we thought we had ordered rice so we called them back, and there was confusion when we had ordered; the lady thought we had said we would make our own rice.Food: 5/5

An institution in Lake Bonavista. Restaurant is clean and the food is very good. Aesthetics need some updating tho it matches the age of the building where it is located at.Food: 5/5

First time visit this Chinese restaurant which is good service and provides tasty noodle soup. There are so many other meal options that I would love to try more in the future days: btw, they have good quality Chinese tea which I totally recommended!

We usually dine in and take out here and we order our fav salt and pepper chicken to go We really upset what we got today dried and pre heated

Have only been for the lunch buffet which is very tiny with not much selection but the food offered was decent. The price for buffet isn't bad but there should be a few more Items offered. Looking at the menu, prices are expensive/quite a bit above average compared to other Chinese restaurants so will not be ordering from here. Lower your prices if you want more business!

The service was slow, my dinner plate had bits of dried food and water on it. The food certainly wasn’t delicious. I went to the front to pay. The machine processed the amount I owed but not the tip I entered. I was going to leave cash for the tip on the table. Before I could do so the owner brought his copy of the receipt to our table complaining there wasn’t a tip on it. Totally rude!

The food is great but the service was terrible. They forgot to bring out food, never checked up on us about food or to refill drinks, the juice was expired so couldn't order a Shirley temple. When one of our table guests was questioned about the lack of tipshe was going to tip cash she said the service wasn't great, and they went around the table saying "this lady says our service was bad, our service isn't bad right?". It was incredibly awkward. We were also at a large party and they didn't even put the two tables next to each other, so we couldn't socialize with the other table. The table beside ours was empty, they didn't fill it till later in the night. We used to love going here, but I feel like with all the stress of running a business during covid they have stopped caring about their guests.
