Lovely gardens beside the street car on old rail road lines. Mostly veggies. Grown by local gardeners.
OMG this place is suuuch a breath of fresh, LITERALLY! It is such a pure joy to walk through Old Strathcona and see people working on their gardens during the summer! Each time I've strolled through and talked to the gardeners they've been SO nice and SO welcoming! Community Gardens just warm my heart because it's such a nice use of green space! As a person who lives in a condo building, I love the fact that i could have a little plot of land to grow vegetables and fruits! Good job Strathcona Rail Community Garden and if you're looking or an idyllic place for a summer stroll this is where you should head!
I was amazed at how fast the plants in gardens appear. It is barely the end of June and they are producing already! Dedicated gardeners - Cheers!
Long waiting list to get a plot. Hopefully they expand
