Always wondered why so many cars were parked opposite the Shaw Center in Downtown Edmonton. The parking is free and there is ample parking space. There are steps leading to the Riverfront on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton. The steps are not too steep . I really appreciate the time, money and effort taken by the city of Edmonton to beautify this stretch of area. The place is well maintained with a long walking area on the side of the North Saskatchewan River. There are many benches placed along this stretch with lamps and flowers. There is a shop that rents canoes, etc . The outlook area has seating facilities with huge pots of colorful eye-catching flowers . The view is great. The boat jetty that ferries the tourist during summer on the river is opposite this river. A walk along this stretch is beautiful and relaxing. It's a great place to visit alone or with friends and family.
This River front walkway was the only redeeming factor in our weekend trip to Edmonton! Very unimpressed with the rest of the city, but this place was a shining jewel! Definitely make a stop here. We stayed for 3 hours and did a loop walk across the low bridge to the botanical Gardens then across the new pedestrian bridge under the light rail. The Chinese Garden is a gem! Fun and free funicular as well.
Nice park. Will go back later this summer, still lot of constructions not fully finished. Lots of trails and can walk over to the other side of the river. More to explore
Beautiful even in the spring I can't wait for it to be filled out for summer time nice n green the trails are fun it's dog friendly for those with and it just takes you away from the city while still being In it take that quick getaway while still staying close to home There are however on the side trails alot of people living in tents like he rest of the city homelessness is the worst I've ever seen It so just keep in mind it's still the city I didn't see any rest rooms though but I did see some nice picnic table areas Restrooms: Unsure didn't see any Dog-friendliness: Yes lots of fluffy puppies Picnic area: Lots of picnic areas
Love this Park as of its nice view, many outdoor activities or just do a stroll, grab a drink and enjoy the sunset.
A great place to walk down the trails - stairs are optional as there is always a pathway around very bike friendly.
Visited this park for Disco in the Park this past weekend. Great little spot to enjoy the weather.
A nice place to spend the afternoon strolling around the river bank...
Very nice and beautiful view. Awesome experience. Had fun and clicked lots of pictures. Great place to hangout peacefully with friends and family and amazing location for quick short picnic. Will recommend this place to anyone for a good nice time.
Beautiful area! It’s huge and very accessible. The only thing is to park nearby it is free but does have a 2 hour limit and the parking area isn’t too big so it’s best to come early. Tons of trails and so much to explore!
