Story

Local coffee business, Steve-O-Reno's Cappuccino, has been serving up homemade baked goods, breakfast, lunch, and specialty coffee from its 3 Halifax locations for over 20 years. We use ethically sourced, locally roasted, boutique-grade North Mountain Fine Coffees. Our mission is to share our passion for coffee and delicious food through a high standard of preparation and friendly service.

May not have been the best day when we went last week - they had issues with making some types of coffee and that seems to have thrown them. Also, the girl at the counter was being heavily trolled by some desperate guy and pretty much couldn't give us much time. Her cohort from the back noticed and waited on us instead. In addition to the limited coffee selections (issues were posted apologetically on the door), they also seemed to be out of pretty much anything cold, and the only baked goods/snacks around were some pre-wrapped gluten-free cookies. Blech! So overall, not a satisfactory visit.

Steve-O's is a Halifax tradition. I love the coffee of course, and breakfast goes until 1pm on weekdays, so I have it for lunch. The egg-o-reno sandwiches are great, but I really appreciate the simple perfection of the breakfast plate. Two delicious eggs, toast, tomato with dill, and a choice of sides (I like the smoked salmon). It's done well.

This is a great uncomplicated place to get a coffee. Note, there are no drip coffee options but Americanos are available at a comparable price. Mine was great! I had a quiet business meeting in a side corner and was very comfortable doing so. Light jazz and (possibly thundercat?) was playing at a very reasonable background level.

Cozy. Nice down-to-earth feeling staff. Good healthy food options. Fresh-made and pre-baked stuff.
