And I’ve been to Starbelly a few times over the years. In the past, I would’ve highly recommended this spot for food, atmosphere, and service. Sadly, I have come to downgrade the overall rating to about a 3 1/2. The atmosphere remains airy, bright and welcoming….They’ve done a really great job on the interior design. Service was fantastic each time I went, too. The food, however, during a large brunch gathering recently left much to be desired. The sides were cold, the dishes themselves did not have any distinctive flavor, which was a huge let down. Kid-friendliness: A few good brunch options for kids to enjoy!
Starbelly is a western style restaurant that serves steaks, platters, grilled food, fusion food, and more! The location is quite easy to find with lots of parking around. The interior of the restaurant has a modern look with an open concept. Customers can see the kitchen that is located in the center of the restaurant. The food comes out quickly and has a great visual appeal. The plates are not overcrowded and are alluring to look at. The steak was meant to be cooked to a medium rare. Most of it was cooked as demanded. However, the center was a little too raw. The vegetables and potatoes were fantastic and well cooked. The sauce that came with the meal provided a nice boost in flavor. The salmon was well prepared. Without any odd smell or taste present. The fish was quite moist throughout with no dry portions. The greens that came along with the salmon gave a refreshing taste. This is a dish I would recommend trying, especially if you like salmon. The service was quick and friendly, with no complaints to be had. Customers should be looking to spend quite a bit when dining at this restaurant. They are roughly the same price as most steakhouses in Calgary. Starbelly Open Kitchen is a great place to experience all kinds of different western foods. Look to give this place a try if you are interested in this type of cuisine.
Probably the best steak sandwich I have ever had. Absolutely to die for! Reasonable prices for what you get and certainly worth every penny. Great atmosphere and the staff are extremely efficient and friendly. 5 out of 5 and would highly recommend for any occasion.Food: 5/5
This is one of my favourite restaurants in the south. Service has always been amazing and I’ve always been happy with the food. However, I was underwhelmed by the brunch menu during my visit yesterday. I asked for a lunch menu but was informed that the full menu was not offered till 2 PM on Saturdays. My chicken and waffle was just ok. I didn’t mind the disappointment with the food as the service was incredible. I’ll probably not come back for lunch on the weekend but will definitely visit again for dinner.
The burger was good, but a little dry. The risotto isn't something I would order again. SOME OF THE BEST FRIES IN THE CITY!Food: 3/5

A most comfortable spot to brunch in Seton! The food was pretty good but the best part of our brunch experience was the ability to converse in a relaxed and not overly loud environment. Our waiter was super nice and attentive, we did not feel any pressure to finish up. The restaurant is clean, organized and so well lit with a lot of natural light. I enjoy looking at what I put into my mouth so well-lit restaurants always score bonus points with me. Also extra points for a nice washroom and great quality napkins. I'd definitely would be interested to come back and try their full lunch or dinner menus!
Hubby’s 50th birthday our server, Alyssa was so sweet and went over and above! Food was great & perfect atmosphere! Ps, the lychee martinis are delicious!Food: 5/5
This dining experience was just okay. My husband and I came for a date night - a much needed break from taking care of 2 boys under 2. Service was slow and lacking, and the food was hit and miss. We ordered the pork belly to start, it was chewy and hard - nobody came to check on us to inquire how our starter was, so we ate it in silence. I ordered the beef tenderloin and my husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich with truffle fries. The beef short rib was also dry, and very cold! The mushroom risotto it came served on, was hot and delicious. My husbands chicken sandwich was messy and it fell apart, the truffle fries were hot and full of flavour. My water remained empty for the duration of the meal, never was refilled. We had to sit with dirty plates in front of us for about 20 minutes before the server came by and cleared one of them. We would have loved dessert however; we were heading to a movie after dinner and ran out of time due to the lack of service. The manager was kind enough to bring us complimentary champagne however, I’m clearly pregnant 8 months so I couldn’t enjoy it. I am a foodie and unfortunately won’t be returning here due to poor service and sub par, hit or miss food.
All of the staff who we interacted with, from the hostesses to the managers, and our server, were very attentive, professional and engaging! Loved the music and ambience, beautiful lighting and decor! Clean bathrooms. The food was EXCELLENT, especially the gnocchi we would come back here just for that!. The brie appetizer was very flavourful, and that English toffee pudding was out of this world. We've had the pudding at the best places in London, and honestly this was better! I'm sorry we didn't get the name of our server because she was outstanding: very attentive and kind and friendly she had dark hair and wore cool glasses. It would have been even more personable and special if they had added a touch sparkler, or writing in caramel, etc. for our Anniversary as we did give them the heads up when booking, and we made a special drive here for a momentous occasion. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our night out :
