St. Catharines Public Library - Central Library Branch

First time here - It’s been a while since the last time I’ve been in a library and wanted a specific book to read for school, and this was the place I decided to go!nnI was amazed at the selection they have here, they’ve got two stories worth of books and other media types they’ve got music DVD’s, movies, and a gaming room???. The book options they have here; this place has everything from fiction, nonfiction, an entire children’s section, and books in other languages - You have options when you come here! They also have desks and chairs on the second floor and main floor, so you can sit and read. I am thoroughly impressed!nnTook me a good second to find parking, thankfully there was a spot across the street! There is parking available on property, I didn’t even realize it until I was leaving, but you should be able to park there.nnStaff here are wonderful - It’s been a while since the last time I was in a library and I don’t have a library card to check out a book, so there was a staff member who gladly helped me out, got me signed up, and explained to me how the book rental process was like!nnDefinitely a great place to check out if you’re able to!!

As a first time visitor I was unsure of how to use the machines to scan and make copies. I was directed to an area where an employee was chatting on the telephone with a caller discussing their favorite books. I stood in front of the desk for several minutes hoping that she would at least acknowledge my presence but absolutely not. Finally I went back to the front desk where another employee graciously agreed to help me. When working with the public a smile and a nod can go a long way to indicate and friendly and welcoming environment.

Awesome resource and well run. Comfortable/ cozy and good place to get work done if needed. Love their new printing procedures. Way more efficient and easy to use too. Awesome location.

Beautiful and clean library with friendly staff and a great selection of books and activities for all ages.nnI find it amazing how you can take out different things like board games, video games, DVDs, outdoor activity sets and more!nnThey have a good selection of large print books which is great for accessibility reasons.

Great staff. Clean facility. Online options and SMS messaging services. Wide selection. You can request orders for items and be notified when arrived. Free WiFi. Paid onsite parking. Free on Weekends and after 600PM Weekdays.
