Welland Public Library

Avery useful and helpful place where u can find whatever u want of informations...knowledge..recherche...science..history. vidéo gammes.. .fiction etc...i recommend it for all générations to spend à valuable time ...the staff is realy adorable and helpful

Such a lovely establishment being run by lovely people! The library is spacious and you could spend hours here and still won't be done with it!nnGreat place for all ages! 10/10

This libary is such a dear place to us. Great space, well organized specially after the renovation done lately and great variety of books. We as a family have been regular clients of Welland main branch since 2017 and we will continue to be.We love it and nothing will change that.nnI would like here to comment on the attittude of some of the staff. How I see it clearly and recieved it as a client consistenly since we joined the libary. I have ignored it, tried to think of it diffrently each time. But today as we were there I thought that it is unacceptable not to bring it up.It has to be brought to the attention of whoever is leading this place. Simply, Staff are divided in two teams, the first team is very professional and understands well the value of this place as a knoweldge open door sharing place. A place of light...for everyone. They do their best to serve, they smile, they go as far as they could to ensure that everyone gets the service expected. On the other hand the other team ensures the opposite completely, they even confine the first staff who want to help by their presence and seem to watch them vigilantlly creating an awakard atmosphere that doesn't allow them to be themselves with clients!! I think it is ridiculous that this is happening in the main branch of a city main library, !! what is happening in ground doesn't reflect good leadership ..if workers are this much divided all this time and nobday did anything to change it makes me wonder what is happening at the leadership?? where are they?nnThis team seem to have a sole misssion which is to unwelcome any non-white to this place, they do this in all ways you can imagain starting from a very unwelcoming or aggressive face, short mechanical answers, fliping books in unrespectable manner and speaking rudly when then can!!..etc etc. I am writing this becuase my 9 year old son today sensed that much negative energy coming from the two ladies at the front desk and was scared to approach!!! I thought this is unacceptable... these workers probably haven't read or understood any of the books in this library!!! Their actions reflect non of the wisdom a libray can teach. Thoes workers are disgracing this place and its mission in any city's life and progress. Any community center wouldn't choose to have workers who acts this way!!nWe value this place very much, it is anybody's who loves books oasis. We grow up loving books and this place continue to provide for that love to grow. I hope that the city of Welland and the leadership of this place reviews what is happening and ensures that this place moves on and raise beyond the actions of individuals who don't undrestand how vast the world is and why koweldge sharing can't not be stopped by anyone!!. To thoses workers all that negative energy you create and send to the world, absoultely will find its way back to you.. ,

Make sure to check the event pages. They do some cool things. Tuesday night we did a cookie jar. They have reading buddies, dog therapy tails where children can read to a dog, etc. Things for adults too.

Beautiful, bright and grand public library with ample parking and stunning view of Welland canal. Tons of kids and adults activities, Great place to immerse yourself with great selection of books, large prints, school/ work project and enjoy some arts displays around the library. Merritt Island Park is adjacent to it to run the kids either in the playground or just stroll around the trail which is quite beautiful as well. This is one of the best hidden gem in sleepy Welland in my opinion
