Great Services, but Cleanliness is Severely DecliningnnOur family has been loyal to Sporthèque for years, largely due to the variety of great services they offer, such as the pool, spinning classes, tennis courts, and summer camps. These amenities are fantastic, and we’ve always wanted to support a local, family-owned gym. However, we’ve noticed a steady decline in cleanliness, which has become increasingly hard to overlook. It’s disappointing because Sporthèque seems to focus more on signing up new members rather than retaining loyal clients and maintaining basic hygiene standards.nnThe men’s room is a particular concern. Dust balls are constantly collecting in corners, and the floors don’t seem to be vacuumed regularly. The showers are merely hosed down, not thoroughly cleaned—we’ve seen it firsthand multiple times. The men’s sauna is in unacceptable condition, with sweat marks that appear to have built up over years, clearly lacking any deep cleaning. The vapor sauna has been out of order for years, despite management's promises to replace it, yet nothing has changed.nnThe gym area also suffers from poor maintenance, with visible dust and dirt everywhere, and every time our son uses the facilities, he ends up sick. It’s frustrating to see this decline in standards, especially given the fees we pay as members. Many cheaper gyms maintain far better cleanliness, which makes this situation even harder to accept. It’s time for management to invest in a professional cleaning company; they charge enough that there’s no excuse for the current state. We’ve always wanted to encourage and support this local business, but if things don’t improve, we’ll have to seriously consider going elsewhere.

Our whole family loves going here. My son who is 15 years old spends all day working out in the gym and the rest of the family really enjoys the pool.
Super gym. Very cheap for everything it has to offer. Always exceptionally clean, the cleaning employee works tirelessly to make sure the spaces are impeccable and this plays an important role in ensuring a pleasant experience.
I have visited the facility to check it out when I moved to the region to inquire about playing tennis and was informed I needed to speak to the manager. The young man working the counter was extremely helpful but couldn't answer any questions regarding tennis league nights or ladders. I have called and left messages five times over the last six weeks for the manager with no return calls. I have called the front desk and they said his voicemail gets full very quickly and this isn't unusual. It seems incredibly unprofessional and a poor way to attract new clientele. I would rather stay on the Quebec side of the river to play tennis during the winter but if I can get better service in Ottawa I suppose I am left with no better choice and I will bring my family and tennis playing friends along with me.
