My partner and I visited the Georgian Mall Sport Chek last friday. She bought a new ski jacket and pair of bib pants, good quality at a great price. Today we went to use them, and we could not find the pants anywhere we looked high and low. We thought they had been left in the store. We called this location and Wayne was kind enough to take our information and check the cameras to see if the items had all made it into the bag, and if we had left with them. He called us back about ten minutes later to say that the pants had made it into the bag, and that we had left with them. Next thing we knew, the pants magically appeared right under our noses in the back of the closet, where I had personally checked three times. TL;DR Wayne checked the cameras for us to help us find a lost item. In the end we were just blind. Thanks Wayne for the great customer service and for going out of the way to check the cameras for us! Merry Christmas.
I went into the store to look for boots for my son and check out Yoga mats. The employee that interacted with me was very knowledgeable and helpful. He knew what the better mats to use for hot yoga was and the towels. The footwear wasn't as helpfultwo employees chatting away and ignoring the customers . I did find someone who could quickly answer my questions about footwear after I returned from having lunch. My son is 9 with a 9 1/2 size footmanswith a high arches. I was assured that there should be something to fit him. All in all pretty good experience and I bought a towel for my mat. Will buy new mat another day as they are at least $100.00.
I will not shop at this store again unless I have to. The service is poor. I entered the store in Hope's to find some shoes for my children. I asked if there were any sales on and if there were shoes located in other areas of the store. The young attendy pointed in the direction of the other end of the store and told me if I wanted to see what was on sale I "just had to look at the tags" I got to the shoes and was walked past 3 times by staff. I did not see any sale tags visible. So we left and went to Champs sports and we had such great service the whole family left with brand new shoes. I was happy to hand over my money to a store that puts their customers first. Shape up sprort check you lost a big sale!
We used to shop at National sports in Barrie but it recently closed. My son and I went into the Bayfield Barrie sport chek location for new shoes and hockey equipment tonight. The staff in both departments were courteous, patient, and helpful. It was a great experience.
From the WORST to the BEST customer service experience involving management: As an individual who makes frequent purchases for the entire family from this location , I have had many interactions with the employees at this establishment. Unfortunately, I had recently experienced the WORST customer service from a member of management. The manager was reluctant to assist me -let alone his staff- with my situation. Not only was he completely dismissive, but he failed at fulfilling his duties as a manager by NOT resolving issues that arise in a professional and respectable manner, while keeping the best interest of the customer in mind. He either needs additional training in customer service and management skills, or he shouldn't be part of the management team, especially if he can not handle customer interactions and leaves conflicts for employees to resolve. That kind of behaviour from a member of management can seriously taint the image of your business, damage employee engagement. That is a problem that requires attention and needs correction. HOWEVER, I also had the BEST experience with the manager, Christie, who had not only completely defused the situation, but resolved it through a phone call in a matter of minutes. She was empathetic and professional, and managed to save a loyal customer from boycotting the entire establishment. I will literally go out of my way to deal with Christie should any issues arise in the future. I suggest anyone who has had a poor experience there, give it the benefit of the doubt because there is good management and even employees who WILL do everything they can to meet your satisfaction. Eventually, the ones that hinder the management team will disappear, as they always do.
The sales lady was incredibly patient as my husband was very through with his purchase of hiking shoes. Job well done! Not easy to please and she was phenomenal
I forgot to ask the gentleman’s name that helped me but the guy in the shoe section was very helpful and knowledgeable when I asked for an indoor running shoe with support I have tendonitis in both my feet and ankles and I’m an x Ray tech so I’m on my feet all the time. Thank you good sir
The Manager Joe was very nice and helped me and my son get his third jacket of the year. Staff is always helpful and nice as well
