This is my first time ordering from this establishment and only the second time eating this origin of food! I must say, hands down, my meal was so good, it hit all the right spots!! I ordered the mango curry chicken, with rice, bread, and coleslaw. Massive chunks of mango, chicken, and vegetables, in a nice amount of sauce that mixes so well with the rice and bread.. the flavor and spice was so perfect. I can easily say this is now my favorite spot to order from. Thank you so much for a wonderful, fulfilling meal.
This place was honestly one of my favorite places in edmonton and I'm so happy is so close to my house I had the jerk chicken and the mango curry chicken, and i really enjoyed both dishes without any complaints. The restaurant seems to have a great selection of Caribbean dishes, and the jerk chicken and mango curry chicken are definitely worth trying. If you're ever in the mood for something new, the oxtail stew is also worth checking out. Overall, it seems like this restaurant is a great spot for anyone who loves Caribbean cuisine. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of options to choose from. If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. The atmosphere of this place is very cute and traditional and I really enjoy it. One thing I will point out is that it does take a little long about 15 to 20 minutes depending on what dish butbhonestly is soo worth trying!
I've had spice n rice about three times now. I've ordered the jerk chicken, mango curry chicken and caramelized chicken. Food is pretty delicious. All full orders will come with cole slaw, plantain, rice and bread. The fried bread is really tasty, reminds me of Bannock. Chicken in all dishes tasted very good, all tender and juicy. I enjoyed the jerk chicken alot as well as the mango curry. Caramelized was fine. Wait times can be a little long though, and food is a little pricier as well.
A definite must try. We ordered Honey Glazed meatballs, mango curry, beef stew, and California chicken. EVERYTHING was delicious!! My favorite was the mango curry. I don't eat Carribean often so I don't know how authentic it is but the jerk chicken was sold out before they got there so that must be a good one, too! The service was a little slow but there was only one person in the restaurant and she was very lovely to talk to and helpful for making our first time choices. We will be back for sure!
What a discovery! This place was recommended by a dear friend who resides on Lessard Road. I'm grateful for the recommendation. The food .. oh. My. God! The food! It reminded me of being in Kingston - the jerk chicken is so damn good! The food was prepared very quickly and the staff were simply amazing. To say I recommend this business is an understatement. Run. Don't walk. You won't be disappointed! LOVED IT!!
Had the mango chicken and it was amazing. Wasn’t sure about the sizes.. but went with small and it was a generous amount for the price. When we ordered, they let us know our food would take around 20-25 min to make, but it was so worth the wait. The mangos were so tender and sweet, and the peppers and onion added so much flavor. Chicken was very tasty and the dumpling was a perfect addition. We cant wait to go back again and try other dishes. Totally recommend for anyone in the mood for Caribbean food!
Great Jamaica food experience. My food was made fresh to order and was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The jerk chicken was so tender and juicy with an amazing series of the flavour levels that all hit the right emotions of great food. The plantains were fried and I must say I was very impressed with the crispy outside and soft tender innards . It was something unique to me, and it will be added to any future order from here as a full side . The cook did an amazing job and I look forward to going back again to try the rest of the menu Kid-friendliness: They have a wide variety of amazing foods. Super pleasant staff and a nice friendly atmosphere
I recently moved to a new neighborhood and stumbled upon a hidden gem of a restaurant that has left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the delightful ambiance, delectable food, and the exceptional hospitality extended by the staff. This review aims to share my wonderful experience at this charming establishment. The moment I ordered the jerk chicken with rice, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. As I eagerly took my first bite, the explosion of flavors on my taste buds was simply divine. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with a harmonious blend of spices. The accompanying rice was fluffy and complemented the dish perfectly. It was evident that the chef's culinary skills were top-notch, and the attention to detail in the dish was remarkable. Although I had initially intended to take my meal as a takeaway, I couldn't resist the temptation to indulge right there in the restaurant. The way the dish was presented was truly pleasing to the eye. The vibrant colors and thoughtful arrangement of the jerk chicken and rice showcased the chef's dedication to creating an aesthetically pleasing experience for the customers. It was evident that they took pride in their craft. What made my visit even more memorable was the warm and welcoming atmosphere that enveloped the restaurant. The staff treated me not only as a customer but as a friend, instantly making me feel at home. The genuine smiles on their faces added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. The owner, in particular, stood out as a sweet and amiable lady who took the time to engage in conversation and ensure that every customer felt appreciated. The genuine care and hospitality shown by the entire team truly set this restaurant apart. The vibe of the place exuded a sense of inner love for people. The positive energy was palpable, and it was clear that the restaurant was more than just a business venture. The passion and dedication to creating a welcoming space for customers were evident in every aspect, from the decor to the staff interactions. It's not often that one encounters such a genuine sense of care and love in a restaurant, and it made my dining experience all the more exceptional. In conclusion, my visit to this new restaurant in my neighborhood has been nothing short of extraordinary. The mouthwatering flavors, appealing presentation, and warm hospitality made it an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of not only a scrumptious meal but also an atmosphere that will make them feel like part of a welcoming community. It is evident that the owner and staff have poured their hearts into creating a truly remarkable dining experience, and I cannot wait to return for another delightful meal.
Happened to be nearby looking for a lunch spot and this caught my eye. Walked in to a cute little place and helped by a lovely gal. Absolutely crushed this jerk chicken. It was delicious! Soft succulent spicy jerk chicken, fragrant rice, creamy slaw, and delicious little dumplings, with a perfect little plantain. I was full after eating 2/3rds but kept going lol. Highly recommend.
The Lemon Pepper Chicken was so good! The flavour and seasoning is beyond expectations, i ordered delivery and cannot wait to dine in! Portion sizes are perfect. My mouth and stomach are so happy.Food: 5/5
