In a happy mood I wanted to buy a good bottle of wine. Since next day was my birthday I thought I should get myself a present, maybe a dress or a cardigan. A women asked me if I was just at Spanners, for I look dressed in the cloth they were modeling. I had no idea what she meant. A little while later two other women asked if I had bought my cloth at Spanner, since it looked like the cloth they were selling. Curious, I wanted to check it out. At the door, two sales people asked me if I was on the guest. I wondered what guest list they mean. I was told that I had no access to the store - even though it was during normal business hours -, only special people were allowed in. Lots of customers were leaving the store, so it could not have been for over crowding. Disappointed I turned around and spotted Melanie Lyne. The sales ladies were most friendly, helpful and appreciative. I bought a pretty spring dress. Then I went on the Eddie Bauer and again was greeted by a very friendly sales person and I bought a jeans jacket. On my way home I called a friend and told her my story, how Spanner just would not let me enter the store, but how I was so happy about the cloth that I had purchased at Melanie Lyne and Eddie Bauer and more than that how I felt like my business mattered. Gladly I will send my friends to Melanie Lyne and Eddie Bauer at the Shops at Don Mills.
