What a beautiful historic house. It's set up as it would've been in the 1920s-1930s and it's incredible.nThe history, the layout and design, the beautiful items inside.nReally enjoyed it visit and tour. Our guide was great, she had lots of knowledge on the place and the way things were run.nWould love to come back again sometime.
Attending the Roaring 20’s event at the Spadina Museum for the first time was an extraordinary experience. From the moment of arrival, guests were welcomed into a vibrant atmosphere that felt like a journey back in time. The dance floor was alive with the sounds of 1920s music, while the beautifully maintained gardens were filled with enthusiastic visitors dressed in period attire. Families, couples, and individuals enjoyed picnics on blankets scattered around the mansion, creating a lively and communal spirit. Although there were a few food tents, I felt that a greater variety of culinary options would have enhanced the experience. The museum tour added a touch of old-world elegance, showcasing the rich history of the neighborhood. Overall, it was a delightful outdoor celebration that perfectly captured the essence of the era.
Loved visiting this gem in the middle of the city! A beautiful garden to explore around the property. The tour was free and the best part. The tour guide did a fantastic job explaining the history of the house with some humour. Highly recommend.
A lovely hidden gem in the city. The grounds and gardens at Spadina Museum are beautiful. Peaceful, well-maintained, and never crowded.nInside the museum, they offer free guided tours at certain times. The interior is well-preserved and adds a layer of charm to the whole experience. Calm and underrated spot to check out if you’re in the area.
A great experience! The tour starts off with watching a video in the basement explaining the history of the family and and the house. You then meet the tour guide and our guide was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I went on the Sunday 11:15am tour by the way!nnYou really get to see how aristocratic people lived back in the 1900s in and the pieces of furniture have so much history. The mansion is beautiful and the space is large. It was a little eerie but what old house isn't eerie right? I really enjoyed the tour and everything was free! A hidden gem in Toronto and a great way to spend a weekend doing something different without spending too much.
