Discover the treasures of North America's charming and surprising shoe museum. Hundreds of shoes (from a collection numbering over 10,000) are on exhibit in architect Raymond Moriyama's award-winning four-storey structure.

The Museum celebrates the style and function of footwear in four impressive galleries. Footwear on display ranges from Chinese bound foot shoes and ancient Egyptian sandals to chestnut-crushing clogs and glamourous platforms. Over 4,500 years of history and a collection of 20th-century celebrity shoes are reflected in the semi-permanent exhibition, All About Shoes. Three other galleries feature changing exhibitions, so there's always something new to see.

I took my 7 year old daughter over the weekend and she loved it! Not too busy.  She enjoyed the kids activities (colouring/art table and trying on shoes).  She LOVED the scavenger hunt.  Great place for a fun Sat or Sun afternoon!

I came here not knowing what to expect but was really surprised. This is a great place. The footwear displays span prehistoric times to present day. Well worth the visit.

Had a great visit to Bata shoe museum. 

Wonderful collection of various shoe designs, very helpful staff. Meticulously clean. I would recommend this place !

It's worth a visit if you've got time to kill and you have done all other touristy activities in Toronto. Not super impressive. Understandably, Sonja Bata the collector of shoes may not have an avid interest for sneakers, but it would have been very interesting to see a section of the museum devoted to the evolution of sneakers. The gift shop was pretty sad as well. They didn't even have a shoe horn!! Doesn't say much about a "shoe museum".

Fun fun fun. Every girl should see her favorite shoe here.  Nice to see such a variety of designs and some celebrity shoes too!
