The Royal Ontario Museum ROM in Toronto is a must-visit for anyone interested in culture, history, and natural sciences.nn**Exhibits:** The ROM features a diverse range of exhibits, from dinosaur fossils and ancient artifacts to contemporary art and cultural displays. The variety keeps things interesting, appealing to both adults and kids.nn**Architecture:** The building itself is a blend of historic and modern design, with the striking Michael Lee-Chin Crystal as a standout feature. It’s a great backdrop for photos!nn**Accessibility:** The layout is generally user-friendly, with plenty of signage and interactive displays. The museum offers various tours and programs, making it accessible for different age groups and interests.nn**Events and Programs:** The ROM hosts special events, lectures, and workshops throughout the year, adding to its vibrancy and educational offerings.nn**Overall Experience:** A trip to the ROM is engaging and enriching, providing a deep dive into various subjects. Plan to spend a few hours exploring—there’s so much to see! Whether you're a local or a visitor, it’s a fantastic way to spend a day.
It's a big museum with an extensive collection so try to allow many hours to experience it. We also went on a collection highlight tour led by a docent and I would very much recommend that. The museum has excellent wide ranging exhibits. The dinosaurs, ethnography and the minerals and gems are particularly good.nThe first floor is free but it's well worth it to see the other floors, too.
Nice museum but still a lot of construction with closed areas. Good variety of displays. Great layout and architecture. Nice that there are many displays that encourage you to touch and others that say no touch, but are accessible to close scrutiny without glass. It's a nice environment that has a lot of faith in the awareness, goodness, and intelligence of people. Easy access by TTC. Good luck if you are driving and parking. Park on the outskirts of the city and just TTC it in for a better experience. TIP: They have free nights once a month on 3rd Tuesdays.
I visited during Canada Day with free admission. It took me ~10 minutes just to walk to the end of the line! But the 1 hour 30 min wait was well worth it, because there are many interesting exhibits, such as dinosaurs, to explore inside. Even the building itself looks like a relic to me! The blend of old and modern architecture shows an amazingly vast contrast.nnI do recommend purchasing tickets beforehand when visiting on other days. I estimate spending 1 hour here on average.
A just alright experience. Not too much to see. Nice building and good free tours around the museum. Chinese culture part is the must to see, 3 huge wall drawings. Egypt part is another must to see. These two values the pricy tickets.
