The AGO was beyond my expectations! From the minute you walk in, the stunning architecture sets the tone—the airy galleries, flowing wooden staircases, and the beautiful Galleria Italia make the entire space feel like a work of art.nnThe collection itself is exceptional. Seeing masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, Rubens, Tintoretto and many others up close was an absolute highlight. Alongside these iconic works, the AGO features a rich mix of Canadian art, as well as modern and contemporary exhibits that make you pause and really absorb the creativity.nnThe gallery is easy to navigate, spacious without feeling overwhelming, and the staff are genuinely warm and helpful. Whether you're an art lover or just exploring, the experience is enriching from start to finish. And don’t skip the gift shop—surprising and stylish finds!nnA must-visit and truly one of Toronto’s cultural treasures.
I had such a wonderful experience at the Art Gallery of Ontario. The space itself is stunning — bright, open, and beautifully designed to let you slow down and really take in the art. The exhibits were thoughtfully curated, offering a perfect mix of classic and contemporary pieces.nnWhat I loved most was how easy it was to get lost in the experience — there’s something inspiring around every corner, whether it’s a bold modern installation or a quiet moment in the Canadian collection. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the art.nnIt’s one of those places that makes you feel connected — to creativity, to history, and even to yourself. Highly recommend spending a few hours here, especially if you want a calm, enriching break in the city.
Perfect place to get inspired, learn about art, participate in art activities. You can spend your time there alone, with friends or family.nThere are cafes inside premises.nAGO holds Friday night activities and work late up until 9pm!nI love AGOnnThere are permanent and temporary exhibitions, so I definitely advise to visit itnYou can find local artists works as well ass international masters‍nnI have yearly pass and it’s totally worth itnnP.S. you can get free tickets via Toronto Library or on a special free day fro AGO, check their website for more information
I spent a couple of hours at the Art Gallery of Toronto on a special very, very special day, and overall it was an inspiring way to celebrate. Each floor showcased marvelous art pieces that genuinely moved me and sparked creativity. The variety and depth of the collections made it easy to lose track of time while exploring.nnOne area that could use improvement is the washroom cleanliness, which unfortunately did not meet expectations during my visit. Additionally, while the gallery provides legends and descriptions for the artworks, they could be made easier to locate and more reader-friendly. Some of the text was quite dense andinformative, but a bit challenging to absorb in the moment.nnDespite these points, the art itself is powerful and memorable, making the visit worthwhile. With a few thoughtful improvements to accessibility and facilities, the experience could be even more enjoyable.
I absolutely love this art gallery and could not recommend it more. They have a huge collection of Canadian and Indigenous art, and some pretty great special exhibition. The one they have on currently about the printmaker David Blackwood is phemonal, and really goes into detail about his work, from start to finish. Can not wait to visit again!
