Southern Aroma

I was driving by when I saw beautiful white tents with lights, perfect ambiance for summer afternoons or evenings & ofcourse following COVID19 rules. I ordered something Authentic after the name of restaurant Southern, I ordered Masala Dosa. The food was served warm with coconut/mint sauce, Sambar & red sauce. With every bite I could taste the flavours, so strong and very soothing. I loved what I ordered. Very well cooked. Hospitality was good, you are well taken care of. Will visit again!

First of all I would like to thank the lovely waitress for politely convincing us to switch our order from medium spicy to mild. We could barely take the mild heat. The food was very flavour. Big portions. Super delicious mango lassi. Salty lassi was one of the best I’ve ever had. The place itself was very beautiful and clean. The customer service was amazing. Super polite and friendly. I really love how the lovely ladies were dressed in traditional sari dresses.

This place specialises in Sri Lankan cuisine along with Indian dishes as well. We have been here multiple times. The place is not very big. So, expect a little wait time if you plan to go on a weekend dinner. I was very happy with their service every time I have come here. We ordered Butter/Plain Naan, Paneer Tikka Masala, Veechu Roti, Mutton Masala Kothu Roti. We also tried unique dishes like Bangalore Bruschetta, Chennai Poutine. They have a separate section for Veggie/Garden/Soy Chicken. I particularly liked their Garden Chicken Chilly. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone in and around Markham

What a gem of a restaurant! We absolutely loved dining here. The service, prices and portions were great! We got the Colombo Calamari and the mutton masala kothu roti. Would definitely recommend you try this place out! IG: @eatyourfeelingsonabudget

Southern aroma has definitely changed from the last time I've come here over 2 years ago. The simplicity of the decor really stood out when you take a seat. We ordered the Colombo Calamari, Chicken and Soy kothu roti. The food took about 18 minutes to come out. This could be because we were one of two customers there. The Colombo Calamari had a sweet and sour taste to it. It was not a stand out dish but still, it was delicious. The kothu roti portions are massive. I finished 1/4 of my kothu roti before packing it up. As for taste, it was just like any other kothu. Nothing amazing. Southern Aroma is definitely the place to go if you don't eat Sri Lankan food on daily basis. The premium price for kothu roti makes me want to go to Gasa down the street.

I am actually surprised how organized this restaurant is, something much needed as we deal with COVID-19. The food is spicy and it is not your everyday Indian spices...the cuisine is called Kerala, which is a Province in India. Even the rice tastes different than a typical Indian restaurant. I never had Kerala food before and I am glad that I ate at this place to try this cuisine.

This is a very small restaurant. With less seating capacity. But their food is amazing. They have variety of Dosas and different South indian and Srilankan dishes. Prices are much better compared to other South Indian restaurants. Will definitely go again.

The best of visiting this restaurant was that all the staff was wearing south Indian tradition saree . It was quite busy but the service was really quick. Idli was very soft and loved their chutney too.

words cannot describe what you will feel when enjoying your next meal at this amazing restaurant. Gardein chicken biryani is a great option for veggie lovers and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Butter paneer and spicy fries are also a few more mouth watering options you have to try!

Gourmet Dosa at Southern Aroma! Well! Yesterday was my dosa night! So I drove into my favourite dosa corner - Southern Aroma! Those who are looking to experience a DISRUPTION in your choice of dosa must visit Southern Aroma! This one is for both veg & non-veg lovers! Dosa with stuffed dry mutton curry was my choice for the night...absolutely mouth watering feed! Along with egg, cheese, onions and the usual suspects.....Red chutney, Green mango chutney, Sambar and to satisfy the sweet tooth..a gulab jam! There were more on the menu...a selection of gourmet dosa, stuffed with eggplant, hawaiian, chicken curry, cheese...and the list goes on!!!! Oh...Remember to take your vaccine passports! You will get an extra smile if you adhere to the COVID- 19 restrcitions from their friendly staff! Thanks..Southern Aroma! We look forward to your innovative food choices!
