A delicious place to grab some comfort Sri- Lankan food. Absolutely yummy! Meat was tender and flavorful .Well prepared and you can choose among many menu options. Very generous portions. Must try the Devil chicken cheese rolls & Mutton cheese rolls. Friendly staff, amazing food, would highly recommend!!!
After hearing about Appa's Original Kitchen from relatives, I'm trying out the food for the first time. I ordered a Veggie Lunch box for $5.99, Banana Leaf Seafood Feast for $19.99 and Banana leaf baked Malabar roti with Mutton for $9.99. The food was very tasty. I liked the banana leaf-baked Malabar roti very much. It was not too spicy too. Thank you:
Gladly I had goood Sri Lankan kottu yesterday. Food was soo delicious. We ordered two chicken kottu, one mutton kottu and one cheese kottu. Everything was so tasty and the customer service was amazing. Place is clean. I don’t have goood pictures to post since we were soo hungry but I do have two images. Inviting all Sri Lankan folks to visit this restaurant for good and tasty Sri Lankan food.
Chef Ruben is running a great operation out of this establishment, I have been here on numerous occasions and each time the food has been great and the quality and flavours have always surpassed other South Asian/Tamil takeout restaurants. I would definitely recommend their kothu roti, my personal favourites are jerk chicken and chilli chicken. Looking forward to trying many of their other items on the menu.
I had chicken biryani, mutton kothu and does. Everything tasted top-notch. Chutney and sambar yummy.. Biryani good amount with many chicken pieces and leg pieces.
We ordered with some guidance by their staff who was patient and helpful. We enjoyed all that we ordered. Mutton kothu and seafood lamprais. Very flavourful and spicy. Looking forward to trying more of their menu next time.
Visited Appa’s on a Sunday for a quick takeout dinner. I tried their Jaffna Style wings and their signature banana lead baked malabar roti with mutton! Both dishes were delicious and on the car ride home, the smell made me drool! They are halal and serving many Tamil dishes that I definitely want to try! If you love spicy, you definitely need to try that roti! So good! It is a small takeout place and the staff or the owner is very friendly, they even tell me next time I can call ahead so I don’t need to wait it was a short 15min wait anyways. I will definitely go back for more!
Service & cleanliness all satisfied but expectations of food not satisfied. 60/100. As usual normal Srilankan restaurant nothing else.
Firstly, there is no dine-in option. We ordered and then tail-gated outside. Appa's Original Kitchen is a small family-owned hole-in-the-wall with food made to order. The mutton lamprais was delectable, and so was the seefood kottu. The desserts we tried 3 different ones were all great -- the coconut, chocolate and the cheescake. The portion sizes were humongous. The lamprais could have easily fed 3, while the pottu was good enough for 2. Needless to say we had yummy leftovers!
They offer a good selection of reasonably priced Sri Lankan dishes that are full of flavour and come in generous portions. Their Banana Leaf Baked Malabar Roti with Mutton 2 roti loaded with mutton curry and wrapped in a banana leaf was delicious and had the perfect kick of spiciness. I highly recommend this to those who have a good spice tolerance!
