Called in to place an order for one item for takeout and the person on the phone said it’d take 15 mins. I told him that someone will be there in about half an hour to pick it up for me. Half an hour later when my mom arrived to pick up the order for me, she was told to wait another 15 mins… so I guess it wasn’t made the whole time? I only got one masala dosa. The dosa wasn’t crispy and the potato filling didn’t have much flavour. I did enjoy the sambar though… but coconut chutney like someone else in the reviews said, is salty and watery. Overall this place is okay, good for those who are really craving dosa and can’t make it down to Toronto for better.
Best Hyderabadi Mutton Biriyani I have ever eaten in my 20 years in Canada. No one is even close to South Indian Xpress for Hyderabadi Mutton Biriyani not even anyone from GTA. I hope it stays the same guys you guys are doing great!!!!!!!!
Absolutely the best authentic biryani taste i experienced from south indian xpress. I wish these guys made mutton biryani available even during week days. I absolutely love it. I would walkin/order again and again
I made an online order before they opened and they called me right away to let me know that they’re not open yet on the chance I didn’t see their hours. I really appreciated this! Their dosas are great, sambar isn’t overpowering and mint coconut chutney was perfect. Definitely returning!Food: 5/5
I absolutely loved the food!! I tried their Dosa which is amazingly fluffy and melts inside the mouth effortlessly. Idly's are super light, unlike the hard-stone like from the other restaurants. Chutneys are up to the mark, and all the spices are perfectly balanced. I also their biryani, and it's one of the best biryani I had in my best. God bless the chefs of this restaurant. I can indeed say that this is the best biryani I had in my life after the Hyderabad's paradise biryani. Loved it. Please go for it!!
The worst Biriyani and filter coffee I ever had. I have no idea how they have five stars; it must be from people who work there. Never recommend it to anyone. Parking: Plenty of parking
I have tried out this place a couple of times and every time was a different experience. The taste and quality ranges from good to bad and depends purely on the presence of the owner/manager. Budget friendly. Moderately hygienic.
Their Hyderabad Biryani is the best in town when it comes to flavour BUT every time we ordered, we specified mild spicy but no one seems to care about that and gives a super spicy biryani which is spicier than what an average Indian that’s used to spicy food can consume. The spice is tolerable to your mouth if mixed with a generous quantity of raitha or yogurt, if you have them at home. They don’t provide Raitha at this restaurant Also, Why ask for what spice level we want if you’re going to serve suicide spicy?! Edit: Changing to one star because we could not sleep last night due to stomach pain from eating their Chicken Hyderabadi Biryani.
Ordered takeout today, their chicken biryani is better than any Indian restaurant in Barrie in fact I would say it’s best , I have tried most of the restaurants in Barrie, but this one was authentic, but they still need improve their dosa, make it more Indian.
Never recommend to anyone. Had biriyani and its too spicy and cannot eat it. I wonder how they get 5 stars.
