South Castle Korean Restaurant

First off, this Korean restaurant right across street from the McDonald's on Austin avenue in Coquitlam has nothing to do with the one with the same name in North Vancouver. They are not franchise, nor related in any matter. Anyways, someone we know in Toronto had recommended this place for Soondaegook, so we all had to try it. It was not the best to be honest but as good as any other. Extra parking is available in the back alley. Parking: Parking at back alley

Good food and attentive staff. You can listen to 90's K-Pop while you are there. Only has about 2 designated parking spaces so keep that in mind.

To confirm, this is not the same owner as North Vancouver location. Apparently the North Van owner did open this location but they are no longer of the same just the name. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. I got the stir-fry pork intestines and it did not disappoint. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I wish they would put a bit of vermicelli noodles in the stir Fry. Other than that, everything else is great. Very disappointed to say that the beef tofu soup I ordered came with hardly any beef at all. I think I counted 5-6 shards? Terrible value and definitely cheaped out on ingredients.

Y'know what, their food quality has not gone down since they first opened. I love their soup and the portion. It's good if you're able to handle the guts and pork blood. The service is good and the food comes out pretty fast

We love the beef soup here. Everything is good. Beef is so soft and the broth is so tasty. We havent tried other dishes but by the look at other tables they were very promising. Side dishes are different than other korean restaurant but very good. We keep eating on the purple rice and the tofu side dish. Only we have to save our appetite for our main dish. Service is super, very kid friendly. Highly recommnended

I feel like the flavour improved a lot since my last visit and they have definitely become more non-korean friendly. The ac was nice and cool so I was able to have soup on a hot summer day. Great experience overall.
