My friends and I have been to this location a few times in the past. Generally, it is a busier location. On this particular night it seemed they were short staff or something as it took a fair bit longer for the food order to come out. When it did only one person’s of the five came out and then another 4-5 minutes went by before a few more meals came out. The first meal that came, the fries were Luke warm one could tell that they had been sitting for sometime. The person asked to get fresh ones and they were replaced. One of the other persons meal came out The plate was hot however the eggs which were supposed to be scrambled came as a big blob and were cold. The person asked for the waitress to return these and have fresh ones made. To which she did. A few minutes later the manager on duty came out to explain that the restaurant was very busy tonight and food could not be cold because it sits under a heat lamp until it goes out. So it could be warm but not cold. I kind of thought this was inappropriate to expect people to pay for food that was unpleasant to eat given the fact it was not at serving temperature because the restaurant was busy. Food is expensive so the expectation is that it is served hot and fresh. I also found it a little unprofessional for the manager to say the thing he did. This left the whole group questioning our choice of restaurant.
Came here after getting our nails done and celebrating a birthday with our gal , our server Lili was really nice prompt! Our service was fast and drinks look stunning #shoutout to the person who made them
Always get great service. Have not had a bad piece of food yet. It's always fun to go there, especially on game night. Our favorite bartender Olivia always treats us well.
Overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. I could make better at home with little effort. My dish was stale. Other dish the waffles were the most basic I’ve ever seen at a restaurant. Basically just complimentary hotel breakfast style with no toppings, dry and crunchy. The only saving grace was very friendly staff who tried to resolve issues. They missed condiments and missed cutlery. Little details that really make for what feels like a place that only does the bare minimum.
The hidden gem! The food was delicious, and tasted like home. There is flexibility, so if you got roast beef and citrus chicken grilled fillets like me, you can choose mashed potatoes with gravy as a side dish even if there is rice on the menu. Soups are surprisingly fine too, thick and meaty with a pleasant taste I got the beef and chicken ones.nAgain, the flexibility - it works in the evenings as well, so you can order breakfast at midnight and you will still have it tasty regardless of the time of the day!nThe staff is friendly and kind. Moreover, to leave the restroom, you have to push the door, not pull it, which is really convenient after washing your hands. And yeah, the atmosphere is great - quiet music, air conditioners, privacy and fresh interior. I definitely recommend you to visit this place!nP.S. It cost me 75 CAD for two with tips but really worth itnP.S.S. not every Smithy's is the same - this one is my personal favorite among ones in Winnipeg.nLiterally every dish from steak to fries, from soups to salads and from wings to steamed veggies was delicious, so I became a true fan of this restaurant, have been here more than ten times this month, and would come back here again and again
