Passero

I've been excited to try Passero but haven't until discovering it's now on Corydon. We were greeted promptly and our service was attentive but never intrusive.The atmosphere was warm and cozy with lovely jazz music in the background. The sharing-style menu was creative and delicious but there are a few things to note. If you have a 5 pm reservation, be aware that they literally don't open the doors until after 5 pm. Unfortunately, we had to wait outside in the frigid cold until they chose to open the doors.nnWe started with the toasted sourdough and brown butter, which was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and even better with the aged balsamic and olive oil add-on. The warm beet salad had many flavours and was vibrant with colour and lots of interesting bites. For mains, we shared the beef tartare pictured which had a great presentation, and the buttermilk fried chicken, where the addition of peaches on the top was a delightful touch. The tagliatelle with seafood had delicious home-made pasta, but be aware it does have a spicy kick, so be prepared for that. We finished with the lemon cheesecake, and it was a standout- the lavender butterscotch added a unique and flavourful twist.nnOverall, it was a nice spot for a special occasion or a fun night out. The portions were satisfying for two, but not overly filling so take your time enjoying each plate. Just remember, don't show up until after 5 pm if your reservation is at 5.

Delicious and intimate, my first experience at Passero was wonderful. Lively environment, tasty food and reasonable prices.nnThe Arancini was crispy and light. The Brussels were seasoned beautifully. Crisp rice and hemp hearts added a wonderful texture.nnCalamari Fritti was satisfying, with bright flavour and texture. Last but not least, the Hand-Cut Tagliatelle was exactly what I was hoping for. Al dente noodles that soaked up just enough sauce enhance the flavour of the wild mushrooms.

Tapas are fantastic service was great. The meatballs and the mushroom pasta are amazeballs. Everything was fantastic. The lemon cheese cake was out of this world good.

Easy 5 out of 5 stars! Wow this place was amazing! We came with a group of 12 and the food and service was fantastic. We shared the risotto balls, salad, carbonara, Caprese chicken, beef tartare, and Barata with tomatoes and capers. I was blown away by the flavors and combos. My favorite was the beef tartare, this was a home room for me, so fresh and delicious. The Pana cotta seemed small for a dessert, especially compared to the cheese cake and chocolate tart, but it was light and very tasty, no regrets! I had what I think was the best old fashioned here, way to go. And the staff was fast and very attentive. I really liked the restaurant, not too noisy or crowded and even though it was busy our food came at a good pace. Highly recommend!

We had olives and buttered bread to start, then beef tartare and finally the spaghetti carbonara. It’s the perfect place for small, shared plates and drinks! the atmosphere was very cozy, even if it was busy. The beef tartare is the perfect food to munch on especially if you want to focus on conversation but still eat something delicious. We had sangria and the “romeo and juliet” wine. Very much recommend. We LOVED the carbonara - it was creamy, rich, but not too heavy and salty/flavourful. The service was really great too! Server was very friendly and the food arrived at perfect timing. Because of the sharing style plates, i’d definitely recommend for date nights or one-on-one meals/drinks. Will be coming back!nnAlso added bonus: very cute washroom for pics!
