I was curious with the Truffle + Steak Tortellini and so I ordered that and was not disappointed. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Steak was cooked to expectations, and the pasta wasn’t bad either.nnI was early and had to wait for my party to arrive but was seated as our table was ready per our reservation.
We made a reservation to celebrate a birthday. We were seated at a nice location and our server Daniel was great. It’s obviously a busy place, so we had to wait a little longer at some points and ask again for a couple of things. That being said, food, service and ambiance were great. I even had a little treat on the house for my birthday, along with a candle. I enjoyed this location a lot.
We were honestly disappointed with the reataurant both times when we were in restaurant and when we ordered delivery. First time we came there, there were a lot of empty spots. We didn’t have a reservation but fortunately they found a table for us. Then, after 10 minutes they asked us to change the table to another one because they have a reservation for this one in 1,5 hours! So, you didn’t know this when you were placing us? Then we were waiting for a order to be taken for a really long time. Most of all we were surprised with the amount of honey they gave us when we ordered tea. Is it a shortage of honey in Winnipeg?! Second time we decided to order a delivery. Food was pretty good but this cabbage stalk in salad shocked us. Does it mean such an expensive restaurant is saving money on cabbage?!
I came to your Earls location in Winnipeg with a friend Nov 23rd. It was very busy so we offered to sit at the bar. We waited around 20 minutes and then were seated. We were sitting for another 10 minutes before our drink and food order was taken.nnWe had to get the attention of the bartender staff to place our food order, or even order drinks. Our salad and pizza arrived but we were not given any cutlery and the pizza was burnt. We let one of your staff know that we had no cutlery and that our food was burnt. The caesar salad was good but we decided to leave after such a long wait and after receiving a burnt meal. The staff was attentive and replaced the pizza to go, but then we got to the parkade and looked at the pizza replacement and it was burnt again.nnI thought there would have been extra attention to this replacement meal considering the first pizza was burnt. I was actually very baffled by this. Usually Earls is a go-to for a great food, attentive service, and a good atmosphere, but this was the opposite of what we would have expected from Earls. I can appreciate that restaurants can get very busy but I would recommend having guests greeted sooner than 10 minutes of being seated and dishes to be made with more care so they are not burnt. Having one or two additional staff on during busy times would help address these issues as I know your staff is working very hard, they seemed to be overloaded.nnHere is a photo of the burnt pizza. Considering the time it took for me to provide this feedback and also to address the fact that our meal was burnt twice, I thought Earl's would have wanted to make it right but I was ignored when I sent them an email about this.
Service: 4/5nWe have made a reservation for a specific spot a head and the manager didn’t let us seat there cause they were not busy enough … sounded like a really bad excuse but the service other than that was good. At some times we waited long for service but at most times it was quicknnFood: 5/5nHighly recommend their steaks and chicken. Was absolutely deliciousnnVibe: 5/5nThe place is really nice from the inside, good music and the place has a good vibe to it!
