I am currently an international student and I feel this is by far the nicest clinic i have been to. The staff is very polite, doctors are professional and know what they are doing. If you book an appointment then it is very smooth and you do not have to wait much. I have been to many clinics where even after the appointment it i had to wait so much. Overall the clinic is very good.
I love this place. I’ve had a couple of all around excellent experiences here as of late. But unfortunately they stopped accepting walk-ins immediately after I was able to get in, so I think I was very lucky. Best to arrive very early to walk-in if they open it back up I did witness someone get mad at reception due to them not taking more walk-ins - I know it’s frustrating but please don’t get mad at them for doing their job. They are after all trying to help and really don’t deserve your frustrations.
I went to see Dr. Eric and he was extremely rude, I was very nervous and it was hard for me to explain what was happening to me. He was very impatient and angry, making gestures of disapproval and impatience, when he went to check me out, he looked untidy. Since I've been in Vancouver I've been there but only 2 times have I been treated by 2 friendly empathetic doctors Dr. Lovett was the best but he's not there anymore. I would never go back to Dr. Eric, I only saw in the disgust and wanting to get out of the box quickly.
I use to really like this clinic.. but after 5 years.. it’s become typical Vancouver healthcare experience... The phone lines take longer to get through, they’ve closed off their email to communication or email booking. The doctors are hit or miss, the good ones move on. Dr McCrory, Dr Swirsky, Dr Nixon and Lovett are wonderful. I fear they’ve stopped practicing here and other great doctors have come and gone which makes it hard to keep a history with a decent doctor not having a family doctor. Their website claims, “At our Kingsway Medical Office, […] we collaborate with a team of on-sight specialists to proactively improve your wellness.” Yet during the pandemic I had excruciating pain & sensations in my hip & leg and Dr Krivokapic was short with me, wouldn’t let me explain or would talk over me, seemed bothered by my presence, did the bare minimum of a physical exam, touched me lightly maybe twice if that didn’t check reflexes or anything. Told me I was too young to have this kind of pain. Sent me to physio which caused more pain and 3 weeks or so later I called back and followed up and over my tears, she said she’d pencil me down for fibromyalgia? and told me to research it on my own, and that was the end of the call !!!?!? I did research it and that’s the LAST thing doctors are supposed to diagnosis you with after MRI scans and a bunch of tests, etc. I had a massive breakdown and demanded to see another doctor who sent me for blood and a low spine xRay which checked out fine. 2+ years later I still am living with the leg pain I suspect bursitis but it’s better and I’ve learned to manage it. I avoid Dr Krivokapic whenever I book new appointments. Lastly, Today, I’m on medical leave from work & asking for a 1 week extension to my leave of absence. When I have to be evaluated weekly, it shouldn’t cost me 30$ out of pocket for a medical note. That’s just lazy on the Dr’s behalf. It shouldn’t take more than 2 mins to fill out a document that’s likely a template & should be included in the appointment window. Other doctors have done this free of charge.
The main walk-in clinic I go to. Easy to book an appointment. Clean. Staffs are friendly. Doctors are friendly and trying to help. So far I had great experience with Dr. Krivokapic and Dr. Xu Qian. :-
I went here because it is ADVERTISED as a “WALK IN CLINIC” however was told “we have moved to appointment only” . I said I would make appointment then and was told “we are not accepting new patients” in a wonderfully, superficial manner. The “NEW PATIENTS WELCOME” sign at the door maybe doesn’t apply? Hopefully with enough negative reviews to counter the obviously planted positive reviews this clinic will adjust their negative attitude.
Let me start with Dr Lobach is an amazing dr. This review is about their online services and front desk staff. Their website does not currently work for booking appointments. Trying to call to book an appointment or change my information update my phone number has been an incredibly stressful process. This is very disheartening because I love my doctor. She has been amazing for myself and my baby. Please fix your booking system and make sure your front desk staff understand how stressful booking a dr appointment can be. A huge trigger for anxiety.
What an awful clinic. I have had a negative experience with nearly every doctor here. They do not care about your needs at all. -one doctor rushed my entire appointment because he was behind on his schedule. Last time I checked, that’s not my fault. He was rude and condescending. Every time I asked a question or for more clarification he sighed and gave a lazy answer. He admitted to being uneducated on the medication I needed, and when I asked to speak to a different doctor due to him not helping me, he just asked me why and did not refer me to anyone else. He also kept cutting me off mid sentence while I asked about my medication, something that is not only rude, but incredibly dangerous. Conversations about medications are extremely important, and he just brushed it off as if it was nothing, I left the appointment with none of my questions answered. -another doctor insisted I get my disability tax form signed by my family practitioner. It went in one ear out the other when I informed her that I am not comfortable with my family doctor because he is not understanding of my needs and is condescending towards my disability. She practically ignored this and told me she did not want to sign it because she doesn’t know me and she is “not comfortable” signing it. Isn’t that ironic? After this, she provided me with no information on how I can get this signed elsewhere, and even said she was worried about her license being threatened if she signed it. When I asked her what I was supposed to do if I don’t have a family doctor to sign it, all she said was “then that’s a problem.” Wow thanks! Most importantly, she would not even look at this form nor would she look at my official disability diagnosis. What’s the point of this clinic if the doctors don’t even act like they want to help you? Absolutely ridiculous
I was referred to this clinic by an virtual clinic as I haven’t been able to get into my usual walk in. I was greeted in the exam room by the coldest medical professional I’ve ever encountered. I was there to get updated treatment referrals from a car accident and Dr Tamara Krivokapic seemed irritated that I was there right from the start. I had to ask her to repeat a question because I had trouble hearing her and she appeared annoyed she had to repeat herself. She didn’t seem to comprehend that I would still need treatments for things since my accident was “practically four years ago” as if there is an exact timeline for everyone’s recovery. Kept telling me I need to go to a Family doctor I’ve been trying to get a family doctor for the last ten years with no success or telling me I should see the doctor I first saw, despite me telling her that said doctor was no longer taking patients. She gave me the limited referrals for the treatments I’m currently getting but at this point I was too anxious and triggered by her lack of empathy to remember any other referrals I had been sent to get. She then started typing and then looked at me sitting there after a moments for a moments and goes, “you’re done. You can go now.” As I was leaving the room I glanced back and saw her shake her head slightly and let out a loud sigh as she continued typing on my file. I have never dealt with a health care professional with as little human empathy as she did. I will never return to this clinic and encourage others to avoid as well.
This clinic has wonderful staff, and Dr . UBC sent their medical students there... They also had : a walk in clinic A sleep apnea clinic Cardiologist consultation Clinical councillor A dental clinic Gynecologist/obstetrics Pharmacy is attached..to this medical clinic. It was indeed a, decent, polite, well organized, friendly, medical clinic.
