Siesta Motel

This is not a chain motel. It is a small 20 room family run motel that is immaculately clean, with comfortable beds, decently quiet walls, a bathroom that is clean with ample hot water, and a good tv selection. It does not provide fancy amenities, chocolates on your pillow, and turn down service at night, nor does it offer a pool. Parking is limited and for cars only. On street parking is available nearby for trailers, trucks, and ordinary vehicles when the motel is close to sold out. This is far and away the best lodging value in town, perhaps in all of Whitman County. If you, like me, merely want a confortable Bed in a quiet and dark room, a hot shower, decent tv, and no diseases, you'll like this place as much as I do. If you want the chain experience try the Best Western ½ mile north on US-195. You pay lots more and have a noisier, less comfortable sleep, but you'll have better shampoo and a more modern architecture, with modern thin walls. (Pro tip: The grocery store in town sells shampoo and conditioner.)

This is such a clean cozy motel. We have stayed here before & really enjoy it. The owners are very nice & accomodating.

Very clean, reasonably priced. It's the best place to stay if you want to be close to Steptoe Butte. The owner was pleasantly helpful. There was traffic noise, you are right off the highway, but you quickly get adjusted to it. Bring ear plugs if you need them. If you are on the Palouse Scenic byway, you will be spending most of the time on the road shooting incredible photos. So why spend big bucks on a hotel room, stay here and spend more on new gear. I want to go back. Oh and don't forget to walk the full length of the downtown. Day or night it's a safe and relaxing stroll.
