Sherwin-Williams Paint Store

This was our second time purchasing a Sherwin Williams paint. The first time we were not impressed with the quality, but were advised it was likely we were painting over oil paint as it was an old home. The paint would go on thin and almost clear and wipe right off if you went over it with a brush. Weird coverage. It required 3 coats, and was always tacky afterward. Well we chalked it up to not knowing if it was in fact oil based paint that we were covering that caused the issue. Fast forward to painting our new home. We purchased Sherwin Williams super paint and again… same issue. The consistency of this paint is very odd and just does not cover well at all. It claims to have a built in primer and it still took 3 coats along the cutting in edges and wall for a light blue to cover a white wall…. That’s not normal. Best way to describe is it is looks and feels like Elmer’s glue was mixed in to the paint making it more transparent. Never experienced this with other brands. I do not think we will be using this brand again in the future.

The lady at the desk that helped me was very friendly and helpful. She helped me find the exact paint colour sample I was looking for! I then inquired about other shades around this paint colour sample. Then she gave me a large array of paint samples so my boss could check other shades and colours out. She said, “you can return it when you are done with it.” I said, “don’t you want to take down my name and number?” She said, no we just trust that you will bring it back when you are done with it. I brought it back today. I was able to pick up the paint sample colour and the large array of shades and colours, which was exactly what my boss asked me to get! Thank you for the excellent service!
