Bridle Path Tack Shop

I am very disappointed with the service at this store. I walk in, know exactly what I want to buy, and the employees try to talk me out of it. They once tried to talk me out of buying a hay net because they were "too dangerous"! Come on! Do they not want to sell things? The second time, the girl told me to buy my supplement elsewhere? What?! She said that it was cheaper at another store. Nice of her to mention it, but annoying because I just wanted to buy it and take it to my horse. Can't imagine the store owner would be pleased that his employees are turning away business either. This is not my only disappointment. My mother went into the store to purchase a birthday gift and ended up deciding to buy a pair of high end, quite expensive breeches. When she got to the till, my mom mentioned that they were a gift for me-- they rolled their eyes and one exclaimed "you're buying these for your 16 year old daughter? wow," in a very judgmental tone. My mom was clearly embarrassed and they didn't seem to feel bad at all. Long story short, my mom said that she would never shop there again. Then, I call a couple months later looking for a product thinking that I'll give them another chance and a woman answered the phone with an abrupt and clearly inconvenienced "Hello?". I politely asked if they carried the product I was looking for and she just said no. Flat out no and then when I, stunned, told her it was okay, she just said "Goodbye then" and hung up. I couldn't believe it! This was my last straw. When I called another tack shop in the area, they answered politely and asked me how I was doing! Big difference! Then they talked me through how I could find the product I was looking for. I hung up feeling confident and satisfied that I was going to be able to find what I was looking for. Despite all of this, Bridle Path Kingston does carry some nice stock. Too bad I will never shop there again. No use supporting a store that treats their customers this way.

Very firendly and helpful place, lots of inventory but there can be limited choices. Would love to see more choices in inventory regarding medical supplies, and basic things like halters without snaps on the throat latch, or lead ropes with more choices of snaps on the end. Overall, staff are very knowledgable and friendly! Very refreshing place to visit.
