I’m from Toronto originally and we don’t have any Korean buffets, so this was a real treat. I loved all the options they had. Although I wish there were more but quality over quantity is important, so I really enjoyed everything Secret Garden had to offer.nnService was attentive and friendly.nnAtmosphere was clean and well lit.nnI’ve gone here about 5 times in a few months, quality is consistent and the food tastes good and fresh.
Went for dinner buffet two weeks ago at around 7:37 pm. Was really looking forward to trying Korean buffet as there aren’t many in metro Vancouver. Plenty of hot pot and regular buffets. The service was good. The only reason for the three star rating was strictly on my experience dining at 7:30 pm. Their cut off time is 8 pm for closure of 9 pm on weekdays. However I did not expect the food to not be refreshed I guess understandably given there weren’t any more guests after me.nnGreat variety of Korean dishes and I especially liked the beef bone broth very hearty and seems like real boiled beef bones. Nutritious along with the kimchi fried rice good flavour.nnThe only thing was the grilled meats were all cold when I arrived. Also, the pasta and rice cakes were looking pretty sad so I didnt even try it.nnThe fried fish was delicious but there was literally only one small slice left. The bugogi was freshly made on request but admittedly sub par; the beef is too thinly slice and since it’s likely frozen the texture was rather powdery. The salmon had a bitter aftertaste for some reason. And the Korean fried chicken is the highlight but because it was likely out for some time, it was very soggy though the seasoning was nice.nnThe service was great and friendly. No problems there. The price is good as wellnnI guess just take this review to note that you MUST go early if you want fresh and hot food. Else I felt like I was eating cold left overs. It’s my fault; I had intended to come at 5:45 pm but got held up and arrived at around 7:45 pm. Didn’t expect the food to be cold though.nnWould try again and frequent regularly but it’s an hour from where I am so the time cost for two hours doesn’t make it worth while except the once in a blue moon to fill cravings for Korean food. Great variety though and has good potential if the food is hot and fresh. Didn’t see the cheesecake till looking at my pictures lol and ended up taking a stroll by Korean town to H-Mart and Hannuen Market to get some Korean bread and cheesecake after. Speaking of which, you can walk by Korean town after you eat to burn some calories and see the other restaurant and cafesnnWould probably try the lunch buffet next time as it’s only 25.99 to see the difference.
We went right at 11:30am when the buffet opened in order to get the freshest food. We went on a weekday for brunch, and the price was around $28. This price can vary depending on the day you go, as well as whether you're going for brunch or dinner. The restaurant was very clean and spacious inside, with very attentive staff - which was really nice. There was a good variety of foods to choose from, including meats, side dishes, condiments, and desserts. My favorites were the pork belly, pork katsu, kimchi fried rice, and Korean fried chicken. It's all very tasty and fresh. For 3 people, we paid about $90 in total, so expect $30 per person for the brunch buffet. Overall, it is a decent price for really good food and very friendly staff. Will have to come back one day to check out the dinner buffet.
OK, food. Restaurant looks very new, bright, and clean, except the washroom. not much varieties, even on weekend dinner time. bone soup is the bestnPrice wise, for weekend dinner time, I think it is a bit expensive. I will go to regular menu Korean restaurant in area. Ice cream is good, fruit only watermelon and grape. The grape is a bit soft, not fresh. cakes is ok, not much.
We dropped by Secret Garden with my sister's family, my parents, My MIL, and my family. We actually heard that Secret Garden wasn't as good as people hoped, so we didnt really have high expectations. Still, Secret Garden has been on our families' to-try-list for a while, so we finally came. It's quite hard to find a restaurant that can Accommodate 11 people without a reservation. However, Secret Garden did have space for us. The restaurant actually had lots of space for many more guests. We paid about 40 bucks per person, 35-ish for seniors, and children under two or something I think was free. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed their food. Their fried stuff was fried really well. Their fried chicken was pretty good. Fried fish was pretty good. None of their fried Stuff was soggy. They had good choices of Korean soup. They had other meats and some dessert options Ice cream, small little cake bites, fruit It's been a while since I've been to a buffet, so I personally didn't know too much whether or not this was a good one, But I had a good experience overall perhaps because I was with my family. Family time is always good, so yeah. But my sister, who is visiting from out of town, she said that her and her kids enjoyed the food here. She said the food was clean. Anyway. I personally like having variations whenever I eat, so I enjoyed the experience at Secret Garden. The only thing they could use is perhaps a soft drinks dispenser or something. maybe there was one, but I couldn't find it. I wouldn't mind coming back again with my family later. It worked really well for a big size party
