First time eating here to celebrate my mom's birthday during dinner. Food was really good. Have a lot of choices. Unfortunately it wasn't such a good idea for buffet since we couldn't eat a lot we're diabetic and take medication that makes us full fast. But definitely a good place to go if you have big appetite.
2nd time visiting, and enjoyed it at least as much, if not more. Surprise hits for me were this rice soup over rice cakes, the beautiful and delicious tofu, and a potato with sweet sauce no picture, sorry. Always love their two noodle selections as well. Lots to discover and enjoy here!
Went for dinner buffet two weeks ago at around 7:37 pm. Was really looking forward to trying Korean buffet as there aren’t many in metro Vancouver. Plenty of hot pot and regular buffets. The service was good. The only reason for the three star rating was strictly on my experience dining at 7:30 pm. Their cut off time is 8 pm for closure of 9 pm on weekdays. However I did not expect the food to not be refreshed I guess understandably given there weren’t any more guests after me.nnGreat variety of Korean dishes and I especially liked the beef bone broth very hearty and seems like real boiled beef bones. Nutritious along with the kimchi fried rice good flavour.nnThe only thing was the grilled meats were all cold when I arrived. Also, the pasta and rice cakes were looking pretty sad so I didnt even try it.nnThe fried fish was delicious but there was literally only one small slice left. The bugogi was freshly made on request but admittedly sub par; the beef is too thinly slice and since it’s likely frozen the texture was rather powdery. The salmon had a bitter aftertaste for some reason. And the Korean fried chicken is the highlight but because it was likely out for some time, it was very soggy though the seasoning was nice.nnThe service was great and friendly. No problems there. The price is good as wellnnI guess just take this review to note that you MUST go early if you want fresh and hot food. Else I felt like I was eating cold left overs. It’s my fault; I had intended to come at 5:45 pm but got held up and arrived at around 7:45 pm. Didn’t expect the food to be cold though.nnWould try again and frequent regularly but it’s an hour from where I am so the time cost for two hours doesn’t make it worth while except the once in a blue moon to fill cravings for Korean food. Great variety though and has good potential if the food is hot and fresh. Didn’t see the cheesecake till looking at my pictures lol and ended up taking a stroll by Korean town to H-Mart and Hannuen Market to get some Korean bread and cheesecake after. Speaking of which, you can walk by Korean town after you eat to burn some calories and see the other restaurant and cafesnnWould probably try the lunch buffet next time as it’s only 25.99 to see the difference.
I’m from Toronto originally and we don’t have any Korean buffets, so this was a real treat. I loved all the options they had. Although I wish there were more but quality over quantity is important, so I really enjoyed everything Secret Garden had to offer.nnService was attentive and friendly.nnAtmosphere was clean and well lit.nnI’ve gone here about 5 times in a few months, quality is consistent and the food tastes good and fresh.
Came here for my wife's bday dinner as she wanted to try this all-you-can-eat AYCE restaurant after seeing it from an online post.nnWe believe this restaurant used to be a Red Robin and inside has been renovated a bit and is very spacious and comfortable.nnThe selection of the food was good from cold foods e.g. sushi, kimbap, etc to hot foods e.g. grilled meats. The highlight of the food for me was the fried chicken. Also I quite enjoyed their japchae and the variety of soups that they had especially the beef radish soup and fish cake soup. They also have a drink fountain that had Sujeonggwa traditional Korean cinnamon & ginger drink and it was very cinnamon-ly.nnOverall it was a very good dinner. The food is constantly refilled and the servers are attentive to removing your plates and refiling your water/tea. However if you cannot eat a lot like me and struggle to eat 2+ plates then I would suggest not going for dinner as it is around $40. Do lunch as it is cheaper $28 however I'm not sure if the food selection is the same as dinner but assume it isn't.nnWill be back for lunch for another special occasion.
