Perfect for any budget since you pay based on the weight of your bowl. There’s a wide selection of meats, seafood, noodles, and lettuce. While veggie options are a bit limited, it’s still a solid choice for vegetarians. Everything was fresh, and the broth we tried both the Signature Ma La Tang and Miso was incredibly flavourful and piping hot.nnOne of my favourite features was the sauce station. It includes recipe suggestions with pictures, which was super helpful for us as first-timers. Everything is clearly labelled so there’s no confusion when customizing your bowl.nnWe’re heavy eaters and were generous with the meats in our bowls. Even then, two adults walked out absolutely stuffed and satisfied for just $60 total. We stayed full for hours!nnWe went on a Sunday at 6 PM and didn’t have to wait party of 2, though it was still busy. The space is quite small and the tables are close together, but the atmosphere was manageable. Joining the waitlist online ahead of time helped us plan our arrival perfectly.nnService was great! Friendly, fast, and efficient. Our food was ready in under 10 minutes, which gave us just enough time to get settled and prep our sauces.nBonus: they offer free ice cream at the end!nnThere’s paid street parking nearby ~$5 for 1.5 hours.nnWould highly recommend for hot pot lovers or anyone curious about trying something new. It’s a great option for both light eaters and adventurous foodies looking to experiment with flavour combos. I’ll definitely be back & can’t wait to introduce friends and family to this concept.
New experience for me. You weigh your ingredients and pay; doesn't matter what you put in, you pay for the weight. Your pot is then taken away where it will be cooked for you and returned to you at your table. I found the price to be so cheap that I had to do a double take. The broth was actually strong and flavorful which caught me off guard given the price. You get ice cream at the end to top things off. A rewards system lets you collect swag or discounts which is nice. The place is chaotic though. Lots of avoiding people as you stand and wait for a spot and Uber orders are being filled around you. Also expect long wai times, get a spot online. I enjoyed my meal here. Thanks again!!
I visited this restaurant to try their hot pot, and it was absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, the ingredients were fresh, and everything was perfectly cooked. The overall experience was warm and satisfying. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves hot pot or wants to try something new!
0 service provided, I do it myself. It shouldn't be a factor here. Therefore no score.nnFood was fresh and delicious. Broth was nice. Vegan options available.nnPrice is horrendous. $40 for a bowl of food. Shocking. Plus the disparity between meat and tofu. Tofu weighs more therefore I'm charged more. Unfair comparison.
Came with a group of 4 a bit before 6 pm on a Thursday and we didn't have to wait for a table. When we left around 7:15, there were longer lines/waits. Big Way is popular for a reason, and I always enjoy curating my own bowl. I wanted a lighter dinner and so my bowl came to just under $14. While the others in my group did order more ingredients, there was a large discrepancy of how much broth I was given I think it was around 1/5 full, it was very shallow. I felt they could have been more generous with the broth. The taste of it was good, however, the miso flavour. It was salty but did have an umami taste. My favourite ingredients were the rice cakes and fish roe ball, recommended by a friend. Cross contamination between ingredients is high as they only provide one set of tongs for a diner, for those concerned and with allergies, and everything is sent to the kitchen to be cooked. I wish the sauce bar area had a cover, as it can get quite messy and is fully exposed.nnThe table is provided with a pitcher of lemon water and offered an ice cream at the end of your meal. The day's flavour was milk tea. Overall, I love the idea of the DIY hot pot restaurant, but do wish there were some additional food safety measures in place - and please don't skimp on the broth!
