Scotiabank

I work with this bank from the day they open in Carlingwood ! Never had any problem to get my problems solved! Maybe sometimes not as fast as I want but always solved! From Canadian to US to Euro accounts including Investments no complains! I tried to open a business account but had an issue to % of ownership which is different from bank to bank! Ended up in BMO for that! One thing to remember, they are very cautions for anything that "may look" not by the book! Maybe too much but this is bank manager prerogative !

Without a doubt the worst bank branch interaction I have ever experienced. I routinely attend at branches of all the major banks for business and almost always the staff are pleasant and happy to help. Scotiabank Carlingwood is the exception. The impression received is that they would prefer you go somewhere else and appear to do everything possible to make doing business difficult if not impossible. How the frontline staff and managers are continuously permitted to treat customers with contempt and disrespect is astounding. They are a blight on Scotia's reputation and the wonderful and helpful staff at other branches who take pride in the great level of service provides to customers. The Carlingwood Scotia branch is the polar opposite.

Wanted to know if they had Euro currency. After automated telephone hell, keying in my account twice and, being left hanging on hold waiting for a customer (dis)service representative for 12 minutes, I got a guy who "doesn't work there but was helping out with the calls". He thought they would have Euros!. This is the bank for people who have time to waste.

I opened up a bank account as a foreigner on a working holiday VISA and was treated like a criminal by Scotiabank. For some reason they thought it logical to treat me like I was an illegal immigrant in a detention centre (they were so suspicious, they pried into my past and wouldn't help me until I had obtained a phone number in my name).....and if you can believe it they advertise their StartRight program is for newcomers to Canada. What a joke! A lady by the name of Sylvia was the main culprit, avoid this bank and branch.
