Good food, good service, good drinks. A friend and I had added this to a list of places to try. Arrived late afternoon for early dinner. Service was prompt, likely because we were the only guests. Tried a couple beers and settled for the chocolate stout, was rich and delicious. Burnt ends as an appy were tender and covered in bbq sauce, we both enjoyed them. Pulled pork with jalapeño corn bread not spicy and the beans as a main, was lots and tasty. Leftovers for the next day. Coffee and the chocolate bread pudding for dessert was a great way to end friends birthday meal. Decor is tavern meets your uncles basement for a party. Casual and relaxed with food to satisfy revellers.
Uncle provides good standard fare in a lively environment on 104 St. I had the Uncle's Breakfast, it had a tasty sausage with eggs and small potatoes. The food was good quality and surrounding was fun. Good selection of drinks.
Ironically, we stumbled across this restaurant. An old bingo Hall. We were going to Kelly's pub, no outdoor seating available all seats taken. It is just 150 meters away and outdoor seating was available. Do you want 'local', then this is restaurant that will accommodate your desire to to support our local sellers. Food and beverage are locally sourced. I had their Tuesday appetizer special, I was pleasantly surprised. The beer was from an Edmonton Southside brewery, again, very good. The server was great and enthusiastic supporting to our local supplier. We will come back with bigger appetites. Give them a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.
Awesome food with good portion sizes. The smoked meats are actually so good, I definitely recommend the brisket. Tons of local beers available and a rotating tap to keep things fresh. Oh, and dog-friendly patio is a downtown gamechanger.
Came for the burger and was pretty satisfied. Maybe a dollar or two pricier than the quantity you receive $4 extra to add a patty. Poutine was decent as well, but could benefit from fresher curds. Say Uncle is a nice addition to 105th Street .
Definitely up and coming. Unique menu and fair prices. My 16$ upgraded 12oz burger and 5$ fries were pretty good! But if you look at the fries they kind of looks like those MCCain ones my mom use to bake in the oven. You have to kill your fry game these days and these ones “do not spark joy”. They were a good addition to the burger and their house made ketchup was very good! Staff very friendly. Fast service. There were no salt and pepper shakers. Steal a few ideas from ReGrub and this place will take off
I don’t like to write harsh reviews but this was the worst bbq I ever had. We ordered burnt ends, jambalaya and a side of fries. The burnt ends were as rubbery as you can imagine, the jambalaya was poorly seasoned and unfortunately microwaved and the fries were overly salty. Our server was a wonderful girl who was the only server working both tables and the bar! I would avoid this place like a plague if I wanted bbq!
All I can say is do your taste buds a favor and grab something smoked from here . Our server Nicola was very friendly & knowledgeable about everything on the menu
So I'm walking down 104th, looking for a place to have some drinks and maybe some food. We saw DOSC and Say Uncle. Both looked ok, so we actually went to both. We really wish we skipped DOSC and just went to Say Uncle. Service and food were great and what a perfect patio when it's extended onto the street.
Really wanted to like this place. Found all the meat tough. Not well trimmed, even the beans and cauliflower were undercooked. Seasoning was delicious. Hopefully they find their groove.
