Northern Chicken

Came here on the Northern Chickens birthday! Had a mini chicken sandwhich with the wnfa sauce with the hot maple. Nice sweetness with an intense spice. The honey thyme was awesome as well. A corn bread that's served with a sweet butter and honey dip. I've had the award winning mac and cheese in the past. Not a fan of it unfortunately, but everything else has been good!

Chill atmosphere. Great place to hang out on a warm day and have some great food and drinks. Chicken was hot, crispy on the outside and moist inside. The mac and cheese was amazing. Definitely understand why it won awards. We went on a Wednesday which has $2 pieces of chicken. Loved the experience. Will go again. Parking: Located at a busy intersection. Yes the chicken is good, but getting a grocery store hot dog bun as a sandwich is…. Not cool. Everything else is fine but I cannot say it’s worth it anymore. Sadly this might be my last time eating here.Food: 2/5

Amazing food! Amazing service! This was my first time at Northern Chicken and it did not disappoint. The chicken was the crispiest and tastiest I’ve ever had in my life! The Dorito Mac and Cheese was life changing and the smashed potatoes were unbelievably good! We had the buttermilk pie for desert and I can’t believe how delicious such a simple thing can be. Every moment of my visit was amazing. I can’t wait to go back! Don’t miss out on eating at this Gem of a place!

Another YEG hit! We were in Edmonton for an appointment and saw on Twitter that Northern Chicken comes highly recommended so we thought we'd check it out. First of all, the atmosphere was like cupids arrow right into my husband's heart with its throwback 90's rap music and memorabilia tastefully placed throughout. It's a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is there to eat great food and have a good time. The staff at this location are all fabulous - they are authentic and that goes a long way. The food - omg. The food is bang on. I mean, fried chicken is something we have maybe once or twice a year and this was worth the drive. Can we get a Northern Chicken in YYC? The corn bread is big - definitely a sharable size, unless you love it so much like we did that sharing was tough. Hubby got the hot chicken with a side of smashed garlic potatoes and was very impressed. I opted for the honey hot with a nice balance of sweet and spicey not as spicey as I expected and that's totally fine as I didn't bring my antacids. I also added a side of the dill flavoured potato salad delish! The coleslaw was good, I never know what to expect when ordering coleslaw - this was crispy, fresh and had a light sauce - exactly what I like. The best part was obviously the chicken. So fresh and flavored perfectly. You can still taste the chicken and it's not swimming in sauce. Breaded and fried to perfection where the outside has a crunch and the inside is nice and juicy. Plenty of food selections, cocktails and a great beer list too! Support these folks - they've done well!

We a group of 10 of us made a reservation for the downtown location to use their "private" room to watch the game and have dinner. The room was great for a get together didn't cost any extra and as always the food and service were fantastic. Highly recommend for a planned event or to grab a bite.Food: 5/5

I enjoy the meal and had plenty left to take home. We order the brisket burnt ends, cornbread, beans, pickles, chicken fingers, and a 3 piece of the maple ckicken. All the food was tasty with exception to the corn bread, the flavors didn't work for me. They good beer selection and the iced tea was delicious and authentic.Food: 4/5

I order every now and then from this company the food is wonderful and the service even better! Having a severe allergy I called to ensure I would be okay and then couldn't put comments on the delivery service I was using. When I called back to give the heads up, the gentleman helping me, was already on it and had notified the kitchen! Nothing like service with a little TLC! Thanks Northern Chicken for serving quality food and service!!!!
