*skip to the bottom for dining recommendations * The sandpiper is probably the finest dining you can experience in Idaho falls. The sandpiper makes amazing seafood, and steaks with great sides and a great atmosphere. I noticed a lot of people complained about the wait time it took to get their food. You have to remember this is fine dining where the food is made and cooked to order! This is not fast food or a chain like Texas road house. They spend a lot of time prepping the food they serve before opening for dinner service, and they run out of food because it’s made each day. With that out of the way let’s talk about the food. My wife and I visited for our second wedding anniversary and we’re not disappointed!! I got the rack of lamb which was cooked perfectly med rare and tasted absolutely delicious. The clam chowder is incredible!! My wife got the surf and turf with the halibut which she highly recommends. Overall the sandpiper is a great spot for some unique delicious food with a great atmosphere. It’s a bit expensive but you get what you pay for! What we loved: Rack of lamb med rare Steak Halibut Clam chowder The house salad Huckleberry lemonade Spinach artichoke dip What was “meh” Cheese cake left a lot to be desired for the price.
5 Stars, Great place and awesome food. So many great dishes to try. I had the clam chowder, escargot, and for dessert the Guinness Chocolate Cheese Cake, WOW it all was ao awesome. All the dishes at our table were fabulous, great preparation and excellent service. Instagram @foodie.adventures.usa
The clam chowder was delicious and Harty. The New York strip steak was really good but it was a little pricey at $31. Staff was very friendly and took good care of us. My friend had the 16oz prime rib and couldn't finish it! Lol
I wasn't pleased with my Pork Ribeye. It had all the makings of a great meal but I was served a rare Pork Ribeye when I ordered Med. well. By the time it came back out my party was finished with their meals. The part missing was from my initial test cut so I didn't even get a bite. I guess I'll go down the street to Bee's Knees and grab some spectacular food instead. Not what I was expecting at all after a long day on the motorcycle and sidecar. Way over priced for the quality of food.
I went for dinner around 7pm. Service and drinks were good! My go to dish is the blackend tuna with a side of alfredo. The tuna was outstanding, but the pasta was lack-luster. The taste at first was fine, but HOLY NUTMEG. It tasted like the whole spice container fell into it, with it being so strong the other guests at my table noticed it. I brought it to my server's attention, which she agreed and had the cooks remake it. The second round was better, but the aftertaste of the nutmeg still made me send it back. Overall good experience, but DO NOT get the pasta.
Very good place for dinner .. the Hawaiian Crunch Halibut as well as the Salmon are fantastic dinner entrees but the Chicken Oscar did not live up to the menu description, the optional salad with the house vinaigrette was also good .. for cocktails, the Peach Mojito and Moscow Mule were both very good .. we also ordered Brie for an appetizer and it was also very tasty and our server, Trevor, was very friendly and attentive .. overall an awesome dining experience
Pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. It was packed so it was enjoyably paced and not rushed or too slow. I splurged and got a 1/2 lb of king crab and it was cooked really well and tasted fresh, plus they split the legs for me ]winning. Steak was cooked correctly and tender for a sirloin. Both desserts were really good. Will definitely be back.
Way too expensive for the quality of food to get there. This place is a good old boys type of place. That used to be one of the only seafood places in town, so you were stuck with it. Now there’s more choices, their food definitely hasn’t kept up over the years. Nothing wrong with it, it tastes, OK, just nothing special. The deck outside is great. Great seeing re-along the river, very pleasant to eat at. Pretty cool bar also. Just not impressed with their seafood. And what seafood place doesn’t sell fried clams?
I've been eating here for 30 years. It's the best steak in Idaho Falls. If you are looking for steak don't waste your time anywhere else. Bourbon selection is excellent too.Food: 5/5
Great restaurant, beautiful view at the outside eating area. Friendly server. Ordered the trout special with Idaho baked potato, and chocolate Guinness cheesecake for dessert all with a lovely bottle of wine made for a memorable evening.
