This is a decent property overall, nicely renovated and with many of the normal conveniences at a good rate. It's also well located, just steps from downtown Montreal. Unfortunately, they gave us a room with a clogged bathtub no exaggeration, i went to take a shower and the tub was full within a few minutes so i was wading through my own filth. It was also too late at night to ask for a room change and when i told the front desk agent during check out the next morning, all we received was a $7 breakfast box each as compensation. This was supposed to be a relaxing birthday getaway with my partner and instead i just couldn't wait to get home just to take a hot shower.
The Sandman Hotel of Longueil is by far the most convenient one. The metro terminal is, no joke, a 45 second walk 100 feet from the lobby door of the hotel. So as for convenience, it's amazing. Secondly, the staff are extremely friendly and the housekeeping teem is phenomenal, the room was very clean and so was the entire hotel. This was actually our third time there, over the course of about 6 years, my family and I went three times, the last time being just my mom and I. If you are looking for convenience alone, pick this hotel. It also comes with great overall perks like a pool and sauna, great staff and housekeeping, and a recently-renovated ambiance.
Love the rooms; clean, spacious and perfect!! Amenities are up to standard and good quality. Check in and check out were smooth. Staffs are excellent, very professional and helpful. Room service and the breakfast was good; overall we had an amazing experience. location of the hotel is good, it had a mall next to it and a lot of shops and food options nearby.
I was at the Sandman Hotel from July 13-15, 2022 for business purposes. When I arrived at my hotel the first night, the road was closed by the police, because of the fireworks, so the hotel was not accessible for 1h 20min. People in the hotel could leave but could not enter. This was planned a long time ago and the hotel people never sent any communication that the road would be closed. I called the receptionist and she said the police were scheduled to let me through. Despite this, they wouldn't allow it even with proof of stay. She just said she couldn't do anything to help me. I find it bizarre since she could have contacted the police to understand and remind them that he had to let us pass. After 1h 20 min, I finally pass because the fireworks are over. I arrived in my room and found long black hair in the bed. Obviously they hadn't cleaned the bed. I was too tired to call them at 11:00 p.m. The next morning I noticed that the dining room for breakfasts was closed. He served a $7 box with a chocolate muffin, granola bar, apple and orange juice. For $208 a night, I would have expected much higher quality and much better service. I am very disappointed.
Very convenient location, friendly staff, love the free parking and conveniently next to the metro. However, the AC didn't work well at all. I would set it as low as it could go and the room was still hot. Bathroom only had a couple towels, not much for two for multiple days. I'll probably still return, but maybe not when it's hot. Otherwise it's a good hotel. UPDATE I did talk to the front desk, the problem with switching rooms or calling maintenance is that I would need to pack up everything again and time i would rather be spending doing my travel plans. I just feel that these things should have been checked.
We spent 3 nights at this hotel before a cruise. The hotel is outstanding -- especially the very attentive housekeeping! Our room was sparkling clean! The breakfast buffet was excellent. The location is perfect.Rooms: 5/5
The hotel from first glance was not great. From the outside ethe building seemed old and slightly dirty. From the inside it was a lot better. Our room was a good size and the beds were especially comfortable. The lighting was quite poor but overall the stay was good.Rooms: 4/5
Loved our stay for a week. We were travelling from Halifax to Montreal for the first time, the hotel was very conveniently located next to the metro terminal. We also enjoyed the pool and sauna, it’s very big and deep. The room is a little bit dated but everything is very clean and the front desk staff are very friendly. We had a memorable week at Montreal so thank you very much for an enjoyable stay, will definitely be back.
The location was great as we could take the subway straight into town. The hotel itself is a little dark and dank and a bit smelly as others have also stated. Dining is not open, so the breakfast we received gold member with hotels so we were supposed to get free breakfast was a brown bag with fruit, juice, muffin, piece of cheese and a snack bar. There are food options in the subway station which was nice. But the hotel was just ok
The room was clean and well-appointed. However, due to a recent rainstorm only one elevator was working. We are an older couple and my spouse has some walking challenges. When we checked in we were not informed of the situation with the elevators. Had I known, I would have asked to be on a lower floor. One time, we waited 20 minutes for an elevator that never came so we walked down 7 flights of stairs. While waiting, I tried to call the front desk 3 times and got no answer. In the lobby, we spoke to the front desk who said we could use the service elevator. This would have been very nice to know at check in.
