I have occasionally donated goods here and received a coupon for 20% off. But I’m unlikely to continue to do so. It is extremely difficult to use the coupons. You have to spend $20 or more to use them and so much of the merchandise is too over priced to be a valuable thrift. And I FINALLY found something to buy for more than $20 only to be told the coupon was invalid due to the item having come from the case.nnUPDATE: Today they had 2 intelegame consoles in box for $500 and $650 respectively. A quick search of “sold” on eBay reveals this to be unbalanced compared to online shopping where some sold for as little as $350. Buyers here should be very wary. There is some incumbency on the part of thrift vendors to operate ethically within the marketplace even though it is buyer beware. This is just today’s example - this is often the case in the “case”.
The store is relatively well organized and clean, the staff have been polite with me, however when I went there to buy some clothes for myself, spent a solid 30 minutes looking through and had about 10 items in my cart to try on, I was informed that there are no changing rooms to try clothes on and if I return an item I do not get my money back but I have to exchange it, so I can't check if the clothes fit me before buying it, I have to try them at home and return them if they don't fit but I don't get my money back. I returned every item except one and left. It was a waste of time. This is the first Salvation Army I ever went to that does not allow you to try on clothes. The prices are also very high for a Salvation Army, button up shirts for $8.99, some generic long sleeve shirts were $14.99. Overall I doubt I will be returning there for clothes.
Always friendly staff, who engage in conversation about the things Im purchasing, which I find very welcome and friendly. CDs are an amazing price, highly recommend if you’re a collector.
Well kept store, friendly staff, good finds. If you're like me looking for something specific while thrifting, this is one of the spots to check out. Wheelchair accessible entrance, nicely airconditioned. It's a nice addition to the area, as it wasn't there the last time I was staying nearby in Fredericton back in 2012.nnI saw a huuuuuge beanbag chair comfy cushion thing at the store but didn't end up buying it since I'm not a local. It'll be a pain in the butt to try to get that on my plane ride home and to get it through the post. Kudos to the lucky person who gets to claim the wonderful item.
Staff are mostly very curt and outright rude. A few who have been there a while are considerate and courteous. Prices are jacked to meet value village now and brand names do matter when it comes to the price tags. Seriously people? This stuff is donated and meant to help people who don't have much as it is and a chance comes for them to possibly have something nice and you rip that dream from them too. I've even noticed dollar store items marked higher than what they cost when originally purchased from dollar stores as well as sample products specifically marked not for resale with prices of 5 to 10 dollars. Very disappointing. We have alot of poor and lower income people and families in our city and even organizations like this are now trying to take them for whatever they can get to. Sad times in the Maritime for sure. May God touch your hearts and may you see what your actions are causing.
