Amazing variety of both savory and sweet pies. Popped in to grab some chicken pot pie and came out with those and an apple crumble. Great little place to stop and have a coffee and a treat. Prices are pretty good considering the sizes of the pies. Very quant little place with friendly staff.
Great place with fresh hot savory and sweet pies coming out from the kitchen. The pricing is good. We purchased many different kinds of pies for later on. You could eat there, too!
These pies are perfect. Like. Could not be better. There cannot be improvement on them. Perfection. I want all of the pies all of my days all of my life. Take all of my money. Also the butter tart is out of this world. This may sound like a fake review, or a review from a friend of the owner… but I do not know the owner or the baker at all. I just think. That these pies are AMAZING.
We were checking out some furniture stores, and Saltchuck was nearby. We had a steak pie and a pepper steak pie. I also ordered a quinoa salad thinking that I would eat more healthily. The pie crust was soft and not crunchy, as though it had been microwaved and not fresh out of the oven. My pepper steak pie was very spicy, instead of just a hint of black pepper like a pepper steak, the pepper was heavy. The pies had more gravy than beef, very soupy, and not balanced with vegetables. The photo of the salad show lots of mustard seeds, a bit too vinegary and aggressive – I had to abort it. The home made apple lemonade was very pleasant. And the servers were friendly.
Delicious treats at a reasonable price. The sausage rolls has the perfect bite and moisture, not too dry. The fruit pies are amazing. My boyfriend says that of all the pies he's tried that's close to topping is his tia Marta's apple pie in Chile. The decor inside the shop is very cute for a date dine in. I am absolutely in love being fed and feeding different flavors. Will have to make this as a special treat place.
This place is great, always hard to find a good Australian style pie but this place also makes some super fun and unique flavors. The family and I did a bit of a food tour when up in Victoria and this is our favorite, simple, straight forward, so damn good, and the prices were excellent.
I can always stop here for a quick snack and know it will be delicious, nutritious, and fresh!!! Yeah they have pies but I go for the salads. Never ever disappointed. Today was a curry couscous salad. Mmm!!!

I am currently sitting in Saltchuck, enjoying a tart and a pie while I wait for the traffic to die down. The pies and tarts are so remarkable and delicious, I've come back a second time today after picking up lunch here today already. I have been eating here for many years and I look forward to many more. The food is 11/10, the customer service is always 11/10, and I never leave here without a humongous smile on my face. I never leave without a full belly either! Saltchuck is one of the best food service establishments in greater Victoria. Today my service from Ella was amazing, both times, and if I had my way I would come back every day for lunch! Don't stop doing what you do, Saltchuck. I hope you stick around for a very long time!
I LOVE this pie place. I've tried a banana cream pie, a peach & strawberry pie and a peppered steak pie. They are all very yummy. It can be a bit too sweet or salty for me cause I'm not a fan of very sweet or salty food. Last time when I ordered peach & cream pie, they said they were out of cream. I hope it was just that day that they didn't have cream. Because I really enjoyed their banana cream pie haha. Also, their croissants and chocolate cookies are a must try. Staff are so friendly and lovely. I definitely will keep visiting here.
