Story

Sakura Home is Rochesters ideal spot for modern Japanese cuisine. Our hibachi chefs will make any occasion a special one and keep you entertained the whole time. The sushi here is one of a kind and we take pride in the way we present every plate - you always eat with your eyes first! We prepare our sauces in house, so trust us, you will have never tasted anything like this in the area!

Having a special occasion, business meeting or just want some privacy? We have a few private dining areas where you can do just that! We also offer catering as well as large party menus.

Really understaffed when we went. Reservation for 6:30. Seated at 7:00. Sat and waited for a hibachi chef until 8:00. Perhaps the most annoying part is that they knew they were understaffed but “they had a lot of walk-ins” before we arrived. Food was good. Drinks were not good. Sushi was okay. Probably won’t return.

The food here was honestly the best I’ve ever had at any hibachi restaurant. Perfectly cooked, delightful flavors, and the sushi (I shared a spicy tuna roll with two others) was to DIE for...stunning all around. The huge disappointment that docks a star here was my friend letting the waiter know that it was my birthday, and we were expecting the ice cream treat plus the fun birthday gong...but it never came! It must have never been communicated with the other staff. It was a sour note to end on after such a great evening. I blame the waiter on this one because he came off a bit smug and disinterested despite his generally OK service. Overall, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, and will certainly come again soon!

I gave it a four because we had to wait a long time for the hibachi chef and my sister received a small amount of vegetables but the service was excellent food was great bathrooms with clean which was appreciated and the servers were nice. I would visit them again as long as they continue in this manner.

Had a fantastic time. You can unfortunately end up with an lame chef. We got lucky and had a fantastic hibachi chef.
