You are cordially invited to join us at The Speakeasy by Monroe's, every Thursday - Saturday, between the hours of 5pm - 2am, for an authentic, 1920's inspired Speakeasy "experience" . . . Drink the finest liquor, enjoy the most delicious dining, and relax to the smoothest Jazz around . . . . Fur Coats, Bow Ties, Fedora Hats, Flapper Dresses,Pearls, and beautiful Vintage Furniture, complete the Speakeasy "experience" . . . . Shhh!!!! . . . Had a similar experience as one of the other reviewers in that we had a gift card that we were told had nothing on it. We even presented the receipt (both when we were at the restaurant and via e-mail to the owner the next day). The food was good and we were happy to pay for it, but to be treated like we were trying to pull a fast one and use a blank gift card left a bad taste in our mouth. Again the food was good and the restaurant was nice, but absolutely don’t buy gift cards from this establishment. They lost any future business from us and also lost long-time customers in the folks who gave us the gift card as a present. Too bad.

A very nice bar if meeting your friends after work. Lunch and dinner are fine. Like the gardenroom in nice weather or even better the outside courtyard which is very nice. The inside tables by the fire are my favorite spot with girlfriends in the colder weather. I wish they had reopened the old bar downstairs which was a good feeling, intimate bar. Wish they had the recipe for the Springhouse salad dressing.

We ate here with a party of 5. Two people ordered medium steaks that were served way over cooked, dry and under seasoned. It took 10 min to get the waitresses' attention. While talking with her she apologized and asked if we wanted a manager. We said yes. The manager never came as we sat there with now cold food. The rest of our table enjoyed their food as the two steak people waited. We eventually took a few bites of the steak as we were very hungry. Still the manager never came. As a staff member started to put others leftovers in containers we again asked for the manager. When she eventually came, the uneaten food (including the over cooked steaks) were in containers. The manager apologized and asked if she could show the overlooked steak to the chef. We said yes. When she returned, she told us we should have asked for new ones and she would have expedited them. We wanted to, however she never came to our table as we asked the waitress. She then offered 1 desert for the poorly prepared food. We declined and asked her take off the price of one of the steak dinners. She took the bill, and we thought that was what she was doing. Instead she sent the server back with no change to it. Against my better judgment, one of our party paid the full bill anyway. When we got home, we a noticed a long black hair in the steak leftover container (presumably the managers). I am very frustrated we spent so much on a meal I was unable to eat at the restaurant nor later at home. I was looking forward to those yummy looking mashed potatoes. Sadly, We will not be eating here again. We are very disappointed in the service of the manager. They have lost a customer and have a gained a negative voice for their establishment. All we were looking for was for them to make the situation right. Sadly, the manager did not. If anyone from the restaurant wants to reach out to us and set it right, we are willing.

Went with a group of friends and all our meals were fantastic. Dessert did not disappoint either! We will definitely be back.

Went to take a look at the place to hold my Bday dinner. Made reservations for Jan. 27. @ 6:30. On Jan 26 receive a call from Monroe’s stating that if my entire party is not there at 6:30 they will not accommodate us. Also that my attendees all had to go on one check and not a separate check. None of this was mentioned during the initial walk through of the restaurant. I ask the lady so if some people are 15 minutes late you won’t allow them to be seated she said no. I asked if i can switch my time to 7 to assure everyone arrive on time. She said no and proceeds to tell me she just gonna cancel my reservation. I said how can you do this the day before my dinner. She then tells me that if I or anyone from my party step foot on property we will be arrested. Never experienced anything like that. I guess because of my color we are not welcomed there. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone and i will be filing a complaint.
