New owners since 2015! We're the only 1950's themed diner in Windsor! Come in and enjoy great food, nostalgic treats and the best music in town!

Story

We love a good poodle skirt and some rock n' roll! We're a diner and dairy bar dedicated to the 1950's and we're proud of it! Take a step back in time with our nostalgic food specials, all day breakfast, milkshakes, mini donuts and the friendliest service you'll find in town. Whether you were born during it, grew up in it or you've always wanted to experience it, the 1950's has something for everyone and at Route 42 Diner & Dairy Bar, we're bringing the best of the decade to our customers every single day!

I love this place and it's decor! There is a wide selection of food and you won't be going home hungry thats for sure. The service I find is a hit or miss. Sometimes the service can be wonderful and efficient and other times it's like they forget you're there. But for what they lack they make up for in delicious food. I will always recommend this place no questions asked.

I go somewhere multiple times a week and they have an additude. If they did note have a couple of nice girls I would not have gone back. I go once a week with 3 to 6 people and we can sit in the section we want. I am done!!

I am following a Paleo diet and came into what used to be a much loved restaurant. I ordered an omelet, loaded with meat and veggies. I also ordered tomato slices. No toast or potatoes. 1. The tomatoes were sour. 2. My last bite of my omelet had me biting into an egg shell. I love the staff, especially Lena. I will not be back.

Food was awful. My fries were barely warm, I asked the waiter for some gravy as my fries are cold. He was nice and said sure. One someone says they are cold, first response "let me get some hot ones". Brought the gravy and charged me. Burger was nasty. Restaurant was freezing! Last time for me.

Good food and good service. Occasionaly there's a bit of a wait for a table, but it's never been too bad. The general theme of the restaurant is really interesting a provides a lot of things to look at without feeling overwhelmed. The food was pretty good, not extraordinary but not top notch either in my opinion. I'd reccomend it as a place to go to maybe a maximum of 3 times.
