Rock Springs-Sweetwater County Airport

Honestly some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in an airport. We all know that airports aren't known for their service rating, but it is definitely a better option to drive to Salt Lake or Denver rather than deal with the people at this location. Apparently they are under the assumption that this is JFK. I literally watch a guy trying to get on a flight that we were WAITING to board, the TSA people were out smoking and the airline lady was talking with them pointing at the man at the desk. One other passage pointed out that he needed help and the lady said, "I only have to be out there until 30 min before boarding, so he's just going to miss his flight. WE HADN'T EVEN BOARDED YET. So he starts throwing a fit which is understandable, and TSA threatens to have him arrested! All the passengers couldn't believe how rude the airline lady was to him, and then they were laughing with TSA as we boarded.

The TCA people at bag check are totally wacko! After opening and swabbing the insides of each checked bag they'd loudly declare "I have a positive here!" and then tear apart almost every piece of checked luggage right down to dirty laundry, stuffing things back haphazardly and then forcing the bag shut over a mound of clothes. How many "positives" can they really have? But then there are only two commercial aircraft movements a day, one in and one out, so I guess they need to keep busy. Solution: Don't check your bag. The TSA people at the security checkpoint are far more normal. United personnel are very pleasant. There is a Quiznos in the building. Never saw it open.

This isn't so much an airport rather than a small warehouse that holds people before hopping on a plane. I think this is the only airport that I've been to that closes mid day and opens back up in the afternoon. They literally lock the doors and go to lunch. The baggage claim is basically a feeding trough. The waiting area is small and there is no food other than a popcorn machine. TSA is as useless as everywhere else. Also good luck getting a taxi. You're better off bumming a ride from a fellow passenger or the guy who locks the door at lunch time.
