Jackson Hole Airport

On Friday, January 12, 2018, I approached the United Airlines desk in order to check in for my flight and discovered that I was missing my photo ID. Ms. Janet Castro was working at the check-in desk. We spoke for a few minutes, and when she realized that I could have dropped it in the car rental shuttle bus, she didn't hesitate but ran right out to the bus, even though it was snowy and cold outside. She found my license on that bus, where it had fallen out of a pocket. Ms. Castro saved me from a mighty big headache on a busy and challenging travel day. I was to fly to Boston with a change at Chicago. She even went into the luggage-loading area to retrieve my bag when she saw that it was only checked through to Chicago, and re-checked the bag to Boston. Ms. Castro exemplifies the friendly spirit I found all over Jackson Wyoming, and at the Airport as well.

Nice small airport with helpful staff. Just 9 gates for the entire airport. You must enter and exit the planes via uncovered ramps so weather can be a factor. The airport staff graciously help transport anyone needing a wheelchair or those with mobility issues. Just one small place to order a limited variety of food. National and Alamo car rentals are a 20 to 30 minute shuttle away from the airport. The other car rental agencies are at the airport.

Jackson redid their airport about 5 years ago, and the new terminal is visually stunning in many respects. However, federal policies has ruint this airport. The TSA doesn't assign enough employees to put thru the amount of passengers that is required. EPA and the Forest Service have decreed that, as the airport sits in a national park, flights will land and depart at approximately the same time, which means that all passengers need to get to the gate at the same time. Please arrive at least 2.5 hrs prior to your departure. No joke.

Great airport to fly into with amazing views Of Grand Teton National Park. Everyone was extremely helpful and Friendly with various car rental agencies Both on property and off. The only problem is that everywhere you Turn to outside someone is smoking Cigarettes. They need a smoking area So non smokers can breath the clear Dry mountain air.

Cozy and comfortable. Very hospitable environment, with friendly staff and great architecture. A pleasure to have been able to visit.
